The whole Star Wars universe was just waking dreams an autistic boy experienced while gazing into a snowglobe

I know reshoots happen but looks like they had a bunch of different endings and focus grouped the hell out of them... Oof. Video spoilers are everywhere and it's not pretty. I'm still excited to go see it.
New Mando episode was awesome. All of them were pretty good aside from #4.

Ill still see it, and probably won't hate it.

Chow directed episode 3, 7 and 8 of Mandalorian. 3/7 were easily the best so far and am excited she gets to direct the entirety of the Obi-Wan series.

If this score holds it'll put it between Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones for aggregate score. I will say I think RT's rating system is sort of bull shit.

rts score is an average of all critics score soo Not really. A 3/5 is considered a "fresh" review and a 2.5/4 is sometimes considered "fresh" and sometimes considered "rotten." RT has some judgment about whether a review is rotten or fresh and then even still the calculus is either thumbs up or thumbs down. They aggregate the ups or downs and not the percentages. If a movie is 3/5 across the board for every critic, that movie is 100% fresh despite 3/5 being a 60% at best. The individual movie review scores are not factored in except to indicate whether it is positive or negative.

For example, several critics gave TROS a C rating but those reviews were determined by RT to be rotten, but a 3/5 or a 2.5/4 (emphatic D's based on percentage) are "fresh."

Metacritic is the site to go if you want the average score.
While I do check RT, I've notice that people misinterpret the RT score. If a movie gets a 96%, people assume that it must be great, but it's only saying that is the percentage of critics who liked it. That 96% of critics probably gave it 2.5/4, as what killedbyschool has mentioned

On Rotten tomatoes, Spiderman Homecoming has a 92% and 2001 A Space Odyssey has a 93%. But on metacritic, Spiderman Homecoming has 73 and 2001 has an 82. Makes way more sense.

Mystery Science Theater riffs about this sort of phenomenon at the end of an episode. They watch a TERRIBLE movie that still somehow managed to get a 2.5 star rating from one of those thick movie critic film rating books, so they proceed to go through the book comparing its rating to classic films with similar ratings. It really puts into perspective how laughably flawed the whole rating system actually is.

Every rating system has its downsides, so as long as you know what it's based on, there shouldn't be an issue. The system Rotten Tomatoes has just tells you what percentage of people enjoyed the movie, but not how much they did. If you just look at the average score, you don't get that info (unless you also have a breakdown by scores and then you can crunch the numbers yourself). So it depends on what you're basing your movie watching decisions on. I personally don't use Rotten Tomatoes, because if I just wanna look up a single number, I prefer looking up the average score. But it's not like one system is better than the other, they're just different.

Ive been deep diving into youtube reviews and it's literally a love it or hate it movie. I'm hearing from more than a few people it's the OPPOSITE of TLJ, and that's why they hate it. Which blows my mind that people even have that apinion. Others that it's "too much" Star Wars. This will probably be the actual most divisive Star Wars movie ever.

The Last Jedi wen't in a direction that didn't suck off fat nerd fanboys and I loved that about it.

I'm a sucker for photography and pretty colors. My favorite part of The Last Jedi was the frame compositions. It was actually exciting and unique for a Star Wars movie. In that department it was cooler than TFA. I wish they would've kept the DP from TLJ for TROS, but they wen't back to Dan Mindel who shot TFA. Looking at the other films he's shot, my hopes aren't too high. Not that it won't look "good", but I'm betting it will look "safe" again.

It says a lot that they won't hand the films over to a Filoni, Chow, etc. They "get" Star Wars...

The thing I'm upset about the most is the lack of vision or endgame for this trilogy. I legitimately think that I could have come up with a better overall story to tell across these three movies with a couple of my friends.

It’ll be pretty funny when Cats ends up being the better movie Currently at 16% on RT, 31 on Metacritic My friend wants to take acid with her and go see Cats, but I'm afraid that watching that will give me bath salt reactions
