That movie is a big Star Wars bukkake in a mostly good way.

There’s a pretty Ok cam version floating around terrornt sites. Has a few annoying ads spread out and there’s light glare in some scenes. But it’s more than watchable if you don’t wanna throw money to Disney or are broke.

I think that it was a mess of a movie that didn't earn most of the things that it tried to pull off. Plot holes everywhere. I am pissed.

Finally saw the last jedi, it was good. I'm a star wars fan not a star wars nerd.

Honestly, it was a fun watch. It was pretty much a complete patchwork of The Last Jedi. Breakneck pacing messed with a lot of the tone and "big moments".

I feel positive about the movie, although barely. The pacing in the beginning is seriously so bad, it feels extremely amateur. I’m not a big technical movie viewer but goddamn. Acting was good besides the old people. Palpatine is actually scary which is dope. Cool sound design.
As it’s been said, it is a MESSY movie and honestly felt like a Harry Potter movie at the end but it’s fun. The new trilogy is definitely better than the prequels but it’s not going to go down as any kind of classic.
I’m glad the Asian character got kinda pushed back she was so annoying in TLJ hahahah
If you’re a Star Wars fan you need to go see it and it’ll make you emotional/nostalgic/check the boxes that we love about the series but it’s basically a Marvel franchise at this point. Maybe if the ending was.... different, it could have been an actually dope movie beyond Star Wars loyalty.

my key take aways weak ass saber duels we got three whole ass movies with rey as an apprentice babu frik is the goat
but yeah the pacing is way off and a lot of the key reveals fell short. they literally pulled out all the stops to try to win fans over but they came off as cheesy to me. the ending was pretty entertaining but the whole first 2/3 of the movie were repetitive

Tons of things just... happen. They were there only to fill holes but had no explanation what so ever. It was definitely a messy fast paced onslaught where everyone in my group brought up some small detail that we all somehow forgot. Trying not to spoiler.
The whole anti-woke neck beard fandom sucks and they make up a lot of the online community. Critical reception is going to be bad because this movie was a narrative nightmare. Disregard both camps and go have fun because any fan remotely aware of EU can enjoy this. I think most casual fans will enjoy this as well regardless of the pacing and plot patch ups. The only people who will truly hate this are gatekeeping try hard nerds.
I haven't seen anyone make this take yet but let's look at how Disney retconned everything and completely botched a coherent storyline only to rely on EU/Legends to tie it all up. There's some beautiful irony there.
They made 3 movies in 4 years that would have taken a decade to fully flesh out something magical but... It's a business and I stand by my point. Here's your slop. Oink oink.
Hand this shit over to Filoni already.

I haven't read any posts on here, but that movie fucking sucked.
It was exactly the bad kind of internet fanfic you'd expect from the Jurassic World team. The pacing was god awful and every character seemed off. Also the pandering made me feel like we're all just stupid people.
Also this is the first SW movie where the score bothered me. Whoever edited this would just throw random compositions that were jarring in certain scenes. I really wanted to like this too.

I'm honestly emotionally drained from the trilogy. I remember going into TFA not really expecting much, and crying so hard in the theater in front of my sisters. Absolutely uncontrolled crying. I have no idea why and it has never happened before or after. Needless to say, I loved it. The TLJ was what it is. I think it was refreshing, but it really fucked up any chance of a coherent storyline from then on and that's my major gripe about it. It forced ROS to be sub-par. But ultimately I feel it was satisfying. But then again, I do not like Solo or Rouge One, so my perceptions may be off.
Overall so many goddamn emotions over the last 4 years from these damn movies. I'm just so tired of hearing the griping from fans. I get it, but at the same time, what do you really expect? I just dont get the expectations set upon by the herds of nerds who were expecting a jaw-dropping storyline.
Anyway, that was a rambling mess. But what a fucking day, Jesus Christ.

Rogue One might be my #2 for the franchise behind Empire, mainly because I think it stands up as a movie on its own. Agreed on the hate. Just chill a bit. We all grew up in this universe sheets it just blew our little minds and we as a collective have a shit load of expectations. But, guess what, Disney owns it so they're going to push dumb things from time to time. I don't even know if I'm making a point.

The movie seems to be getting a love it or hate it response. Haven’t noticed really anyone (here or elsewhere) say “it was just ok”.

Posts in here slam nerds for hating the movie, then list a bunch of reasons why it sucked and tells everyone we should expect it to suck because Disney is just trying to suck up as much money as possible as quickly as possible.

Empire Strikes Back A New Hope Return of the Jedi Rogue One The Force Awakens The Last Jedi *** after this it gets hairy and could probably change all of the time *** Rise of Skywalker Phantom Menace Attack of the Clones Solo Revenge of the Sith
Solo's not even a dog shit movie it's just completely meaningless and hard to rank because who cares about it at all lol. It's probably a better movie than 4 of the others.

You know the more I think about it, and this could be mistaken, but the new trilogy probably has the least cohesive narrative over the 3 movies out of all of the trilogies. It felt like each director setting each other up for a bunch of shit and then ignoring each other and doing whatever they want. Kind of funny. I just remembered the Last Jedi ending with like "WE WILL REBUILD!" and the hope of new Jedis and shit and then....? Fast forward to the movie last night and they were just doing the same ol shit.

As someone who liked TFA and loved/always found myself defending TLJ, this movie depressed the hell out of me. Everything was happening so fast I felt like I couldn't process it. If the movie was longer and slower, it could've been better. The very beginning and the very end (just after the showdown with Palpatine) were good imo, but much of the film in between was just a disjointed mess.
I have no clue what happened with Leia before she died. I know she was contacting Ben, but why Rey's attack on him wounded and killed her is beyond my grasp.
Also, the inclusion of new characters is pointless when they get little to no time to do much of anything. On that same note, I guess I should've expected the Knights of Ren to be reduced to easy kills with no dialogue or background. Still disappointing.

The movie seems to be getting a love it or hate it response. Haven’t noticed really anyone (here or elsewhere) say “it was just ok”. I'd say it was just alright. I thoroughly enjoyed all the other Disney era movies and saw them all several times while they were still in theaters. When the credits rolled last night, I could only think to myself "I don't know if I could sit through this again."

If the Emperor was a living planet, the plot of the whole trilogy would just be GOTG2.

It definitely would have benefited from a way slower plot progression. The first 30 minutes of editing is hilariously bad. It honestly surprises me how movies with such large budgets and talent can end up like that.

U mad? I'm not really a Star Wars fan and I haven't seen the recent movies, so, not really. The mental gynmnastics are funny though, people want to slam the movie without being associated with neckbeards.

I like Star Wars but have never understood the weird cult-like fandom. I get that people can develop really passionate feelings for stuff but... it's still just movies. If you're a grown ass man still applying the virtue of Star Wars allegories to your every day life, or even getting weepy over what "they've" done to "your" franchise, you might as well buy an annual pass to Disneyland and dress up like the fruits below because you are a dummy.
