The bike designs were appalling, what kid is gonna want to play with those shitty Quadrophenia rip offs Also when they were flying? driving? neither their hair nor their clothes ever moved, it was such green screen bullshit that it looked even worse. |

Robert Rodriguez is the Anchor that is going to drown this series. Episode 2 shows how fucking out of his league he is directing this kid of stuff. That space vespa spy kids chase scene was so utterly painful. Everything from his direction to the effects looks cheap, like a fan film. If it wasn;t for the fact that I like Temura, I'd already be out. The series story is fine, but the presentation is like the BOLD of Star Wars.

Chase scene was so bad felt like they were trying to replicate the kitschy quality of fx in the original A New Hope but with cgi. I was straight up laughing, looked like they were going 5mph crashing into shit

I'll start by admitting that I'm not a Star Wars guy. I've seen the movies, but they never became an obsession. We're watching The Mandalorian and Boba Fett because... kids. It's been fun so far, but I wouldn't say either have been earth shatteringly good.
That said, it always seemed like Boba was so popular because a) he looked cool, b) you didn't know hardly anything about him, and c) he didn't overstay his welcome -- minimal screen time.
The show risks losing the character's edge by ruining b and c listed above. That said, I've found the character more interesting after the reveal that all the storm troopers are clones of his dad. How weird must have been for him during episodes 2 and 3? Now, that is something I'd like to see this show spend some time on. Last episode, we see the storm trooper helmets on spikes, so I'm hoping there's some more development there, but we'll see.

I mean, they executed order 66 and were the emperors army. Stormtroopers were later replaced by average Joes as the first round of clones aged out, and they may not have re-upped, but clone troopers became storm troopers in canon. I think I fucked myself up reading the extended universe books 20 years ago that almost immortalized him. BOBF is ruining my perceptions of him for me. But, I'm not as attached to Star Wars as I used to be, contrary to my IG-88 tattoo inspired by Tales of the Bounty Hunters books. But then again, I think at this point we have to be comfortable with all new Star Wars movies and shows being 75% shit, and 25% really good. Mando was really good, BOBF is shit (sorry), The prequels were shit, Force Awakens was really good, TLJ was shit, TROS was shit, Rouge 1 was good, Han Solo was shit. In my apinion, of course. |

What bothers me the most with the biker gang is that they made this corny determined face before the chase scene. Go back and look at their stupid faces(mostly the girl biker).
Did they eat the dog-lizard creature that lived with the Tusken raiders?
The theme song turns into the Mandalorian's theme towards the end of the credits. I feel like this is just filler until Mando comes back next year and he'll be back in the last few episodes.

I feel like the fact that (for the most part) fans now look back fondly on the prequels is just a testament to how fucking bad Disney has fucked Star Wars. The Force Awakens was ok but it needed a really strong VIII and IX to even validate its existence and man oh man did that 100% not happen. So far Rogue One and The Mandalorian are the only things to really galvanize the fan base and I really don’t have any confidence in the future overall. I really hope they don’t fudge Obi Wan because I love that character and Ewan so very much. Out of the 11 films, 4 (maybe 5) are good. Not great!

Tbh the prequel apoligists were around well before the sequels. The Clone Wars series rehabilitated that period for a lot of fans. Ya'll know how I feel about TLJ so I won't rehash that. I feel like everyone sort of understands that Star Wars as an IP has coasted on the good will of the OG trilogy for like 40 years, and the fan base has sort of done the rest. That's sort of the beauty of it, they didn't need to release any other movies, and the fan base would still probably be just as rabid and event, because that universe lives in our heads more than it does on the screen. Did I want to see them stick the landing with the sequels? Of course. Does it really bother me that badly that they didn't? Not as much anymore. |

I def need to finish that up I remember liking ROTS at the time, but on re-watch years later I didn't have the same feeling. It suffers from all the same problems the other two suffer from, but it is the best of the three. Those just aren't good movies. I also couldn't get into Clone Wars because the animation style bothered me. I wish they would stuck with Gendy because the Samurai Jack style was more enjoyable for me. |
