Like most Star Wars, I want to like this but it just isn’t good. I have zero emotional attachment. Like people die and I just don’t care. Nothing is pulling me in to do so. And yes, what the fuck was up with the shakey cam in that episode?

leia can't act either. i think they hired her for the close-ups cuz her face looks like a cartoon. she looks awkward when she has to react or even move around.

Huh. Girl playing Leia is one of the few things about the show I think is working. I think it's the overall cinematography that's causing EVERYONE to seem like they can't act. The production team seems to want to make this look like a stage performance. I can't 100% describe what I mean, but something is way off.

I haven't watch the last Obi Wan episode but I kinda wish that rather than the Obi Wan series they would have done a Migs Mayfield doing mundane daily shit sitcom. Mig Mayfield running into absurd hassles trying to get to his favorite lunch spot, etc etc.

The cinematography lighting and blocking are fucking incredible in that it makes every shot and every scene look like a commercial you’d see on Hulu in-between episodes of Real Housewives

Dude this 100% how I feel too. The action scenes are almost painful and i can't put my finger on why. The stormtroopers slowly walking en masse into the base, the shaky cam, etc you get completely lost in what's going on. I feel like BOBF had this same problem.

I agree that Leia is one of the few strong points (not her character being included, but the actress and most of how she's written.) It's fucking rough when a ten year old is outacting most of the other people on the show.

Whoever said we have Stockholm syndrome is on point. Even if a SW series or movie is meh I’ll undoubtedly watch it all the way through. The speeder bike gang in Boba almost cured me though it was soooooooo bad. Why couldn’t a single one of them die in the last episode?? Lame as fuck.
Obi-wan hasn’t gotten to that point yet.

it bothered me more than it should have that when they formed a path to let vader pass, it wasnt straight on either side.

This might be my least favorite thing Disney Star Wars has done. Just completely lacking any heart or purpose. It was like some idiot fan made it. I'd put it on par with TROS just in terms of completely empty Star Wars cosplay. I'm still hopeful Andor will be good, but I'm not that optimistic.

Disney should give Gareth Edwards creative control of the franchise. Rogue One has been the only good SW film since the original trilogy.

I know people shit on Solo but I think the Kasdan's wrote some interesting characters and I'd like to see them have a go at another original SW idea.

Deborah Chow and Robert Rodriguez should not be allowed to direct any more SW content, they should be producers and nothing more.

I know I routinely get shit for it, but I felt like Rian Johnson gave us the only Disney content outside of Rogue One that had a genuine emotional appeal. I love some of the things Rian Johnson did and would love to see what he can do with it when given new characters/settings to work with. I won't launch into a tangent about TLJ, but I think there's a lot of people realizing now that it was probably the only worthwhile entry in the Sequels. I also thought Solo was OK, it was just really forgettable, and again, didn't justify its existence.

Sure there were some cringey moments (the forced humor in all new Star Wars content makes me nauseous), but he laid groundwork for the series to go in an interesting direction. The studio got scared of angry internet nerds and decided to play it safe with TROS and come up with a complete bullshit ending.

- How could a star destroyer not blast some passenger ship that can't escape to dust? Why not send some tie fighters after it instead of abandoning it entirely to chase Kenobi?

- Did they really have to just copy the Vader vs Ahsoka duel for this finale? This scene was basically a 1:1 of that.

- I refuse to believe that Obi-Wan was able to get from wherever the hell he was in the galaxy to Tatooine that quickly to try to save Luke

For me anything remotely cool in this series was dwarfed by the jarring and lazy writing, the shaky camera, and the cheap-sounding score. Between this and Book of Boba Fett I have pretty much no confidence in any of the upcoming series aside from the cartoons which somehow have a much better track record.

I will never stop being amazed at the absurd risks that were taken by Disney in trying to piece together a story with different writers and directors making it up as they wen't along.

Since then, they’ve given us content of continuously declining quality, and I don’t think that will change as long as people keep their Disney+ subscriptions. Fuck Andor. Fuck Disney. Fuck movies.
