I missed most of this but has he talked to the white dudes as glibly as klobuchar? He was a lot more shrill. Klobuchar has been the most professional and poised throughout the hearings while these MAWMs have the kind of breakdowns usually reserved for bat flips and property tax increases. |

Heard this on my drive home, but why were there no rape/abuse allegations to Neil Gorsuch? Especially coming hot off the heels of blocking the seat, you'd think they'd be extra vindictive.
The only reason I can think of is (if this was _actually_ a ploy by the dems) is that they couldn't block the seat that long, but this seat is close to mid-terms.

The rationale I've seen for Dems not blocking that seat was it was a like for like trade. Gorsuch replaced Scalia who was probably the 2nd most right wing guy on the court. Nothing was really "lost" in that exchange (though centrist blob of vanilla Merrick Garland would probably have something to say about that). This is about making an ultra right majority in the court solidified in a nearly permanent fashion. There's more desperation to avoid that. |
