I get it. International law and its arbitrary and problematic definitions and imperialist orientation don't matter and we shouldn't care because the U.S. is a heckin failed state because McDonald's cost too much. credit card debt all time high, housing toast, its not just McDonald's. Maybe your trust fund got you through but alot people are struggling. You prob got hard when harris talked about having the most lethal advanced army in world. Bro, take me seriously I'm comparing living conditions in the United States to Myanmar and Syria.

Why do you think everybody has trust funds? This isn't an early 2000s college comedy starring Ryan Reynolds.

You make fun of republicans for voting against their interest, yet you or most of you are voting/defending a cop, genocide, and have defended a group of elite racist oligarchs same as them

Maybe we understand it better than you? Maybe we approach it with a bit more nuance than you, the guy accusing total strangers of being rah-rah for genocide? People here would be a lot more willing to entertain your ideas if you weren't so you about it. The fact that you operate from this soapbox of moral exceptionalism immediately makes you lose credibility, and it's why people think you're a Trumper. Because Trump people behave the exact same way. And frankly I have no idea what you're even reading that reads like a bunch of privileged white suburbanites. I read a lot of empathetic people who are willing to try whatever necessary to bring about a lasting ceasefire and peace. Meanwhile you're proposing doing nothing but acting drunk on the internet.

If operating from a soap box is having a recline about alot of important shit, vs your fear of trump. You I would bet thinks your college education makes you right about everything. Sorry I'm not pumped in a party who's strategy was abandoning working class and poor for suburban white voters.

Yeah, if I’m thinking strictly in terms of my own self-interest narrowly conceived, the Harris-Walz ticket is incomparably better. The GOP-controlled house quite literally kept me from getting hired on full-time for months for no actual reason.

I've posted about my opposition to the Motor Carrier Act of 1980, actually. However, let's be clear here: Prior to the MCA, those jobs were for white men exclusively. A few unions were more welcoming to black people and other ethnic minorities, but the occupation was about as white as can be. That's not true today. Moreover, it was also other parts of the supply chain who supported the MCA of 1980, and its inarguable that the MCA of 1980 led to job growth.

It’s at least a little interesting that dumpster white conservatives have long been criticized by the left for refusing to vote for their own self-interests, but now the left is *checks notes* criticizing folks they’re most likely to share a tent with for voting for their own self-interests (however marginal they may be).

crust, propose a single realistic solution that doesn't ultimately boil down to a crust punk kid saying "the systems fucked bro" while bumming cigarettes off people outside a show.

This isn’t entirely fair. The democrats are also pretty shit and voting for them absolutely votes against many peoples self interest. Just because the dems do some things that benefit democrats, the republicans also do some things that benefit their base. Saying democrats vote against their our self interest is 100% valid, for the same reason it’s valid for republicans. The democrats just act against their bases interest more quietly, deceptively, and counter to their talking points. I don’t think the democrats doing good things for infrastructure or public funding really grants them the right to say they fully act in the interest of their voters.
