I need some work. Send me in. I'll give those backward Teamsters racial equity training. I didn't intern at Mediacom's Training & Development Department at their state-of-the-art headquarters in 2010 for nothing, you know.

Are there really places that have mandatory DEI seminars? I've only ever had mandatory web training that you can mute and breeze through the quiz at the end if you're not a numbskull.

Yeah, the whole Chris Rufo DEI HAS INFILTRATED ALL OF OUR INSTITUTIONS cottage industry loves all of the idiotic DEI slides from presentations, but without an acknowledgment that these are almost always optional for professional development credit hours. Rarely are people compelled to watch or attend these things.

RFK Jr and Olivia Nuzzi were just sexting, which makes sense cuz the last year would’ve been a tough time to pull off an affair.

Trump legit telling people Robinson is like MLK solely because he's a black man orator and so was MLK.
Like, the comparisons literally end after "he's black" and "he speaks."

In CA, Laura Friedman’s AB 2553 passed and is now taking effect and people are big mad. It “changes the geographic scope of a housing development eligible for reduced vehicular traffic impact fees.”

Hezbollah? They’re definitely a fairly competent, organized, and well supplied organization. That said, the modern battlefield is ruled by digital, aerial ISR(intel/surveillance/recon), and artillery, both of which Israel has the cutting edge of. It’s not 2006 anymore, and any conventional army vs army conflict is likely to be decided by whose got more artillery and whose got better ISR. It’s why we’re seeing Russia continue to slowly steamroll Ukraine. They have limitless ISR assets and artillery shells, and unless they run out of both, or Ukraine gets supplied a sufficient amount of both, the Russian lines will continue to slowly creep forward. But hezbollah isn’t stupid, they know they can’t fight the IDF fair and square, and they’d undoubtedly take up guerrilla tactics, which the the IDF simply can’t defeat especially once the IDF starts killing civilians and radicalizing people to take up arms against them. The lines might be creeping forward, but I would argue Ukraine is probably the best recent example of a supposed modern power being humiliated by an effective insurgency. Nobody thinks Russia will achieve anything close to the aims it had at the beginning of the war, and they're in a far more dangerous and isolated international position than they were in January 2022. Putin is weaker, NATO and China know they can steamroll Russia without getting out of 2nd gear if they have to and the only recourse Russia has is to nuclear weapons. Sorry to folks for quoting a pages old post but whatever. Ukraine hasn’t put up an insurgency. It’s a near peer, conventional conflict, period. Yes, there were some partisan actions in the beginning but that is standard for any conflict, and we’ve seen it all but stop in Ukraine. But you’re right, it’s a great example of a supposed military powerhouse being humiliated. While Russia does creep forward, it’s at monumental cost in both men and material. Defense/offense loss ratio is usually 1/3 in rural combat, and as high as 1/8 for urban. The fact Ukraine has kept Russian advances to hardly above a standstill is very impressive and is a testament to the issues with Soviet era doctrine. The only reason that they are still moving forward, IMO, is the artillery overmatch. Soviet doctrine relies heavily on artillery doing the heavy lifting, far more so than western doctrine, and if Ukraine had the supplies needed to effectively defend themselves I think we would be seeing a very different war. Russia is adapting quickly and the west is risking letting Russia develop modern doctrine without crippling their military, but Ukraine has been extremely adaptable and effective in their ability to rapidly modernize their doctrine - managing to be highly effective even while facing a severe shortage of indirect munitions and ISR against a country with an unlimited supply of both. That’s not to say there aren’t still many issues with Soviet era thinking in the Ukrainian forces, but they’ve really very quickly become the most skilled and adept conventional fighting force in the world. With Russia in a close second. Any nation, the U.S. included, is currently in a really precarious position should they engage in a direct conflict with Russia. The rest of the world simply has zero experience with conventional warfare and the minute the guns fall silent in Ukraine the west is going to be clambering to learn from the Ukrainians. Russia may have been a paper tiger at the start of the war, but they have rapidly come up to speed and now are closer to that “second best army” rhetoric being true than they ever have before. Fuck war and fuck America but from a blunt “American global dominance” perspective we should be giving Ukraine everything they need unless we want Russia to really be stronger than they’ve ever been. They are getting more and more proficient by the day and the melding of Soviet artillery overmatch with “western” combined arms, small unit maneuver warfare is a very very potent recipe. Considering the fact that western doctrine relies on quality over quantity, and the military industrial complex is so absurdly expensive, we could find ourselves in a really tough spot as Ukraine has showed us that quantity still trumps quality when it comes to munitions…especially with electronic warfare. $250,000 smart artillery shells are inferior to $5000 dumb ones, but the west still relies heavily on tech rather than volume. We sent smart shells to Ukraine and they worked great for a few weeks until Russia figured out how to jam them, which has been a running theme since the war kicked off. Every smart system we give them is useful for only a short window, with Ukrainians reporting they need to be selective about their use because they have only a limited window of effectiveness before countermeasures are developed. Got a little off topic but yeah, Ukraine has really put up a remarkable fight and with ample supplies they would probably be able to stop Russia in its tracks…but ultimately the conflict has reached the point of being attritional and it’s going to be decided by whose men and supplies run out first. Russias aren’t going to run out, but Ukraines are. They can’t “win” this war unless they suddenly get the material and manpower they desperately need, regardless of how experienced and effective they are.
