A lot of your comment was pretty sensational. Poll watchers? Maine? Nebraska? All of which are non-factors because neither state is changing their EC process and no poll watcher is going to have any legitimate impact. I get being stressed and cautiously optimistic, but the bulk of that second paragraph comes off as panic. Don’t mean any of this to be a dick. I'd love to be wrong. The Maine/Nebraska thing is a wash because I hadn't checked the news this morning, and Nebraska only recently dropped its attempt to switch to a "winner take all" instead of district based electoral vote system. But, given all of Trumpdom has been in an uproar for the last four years about the election being stolen, and boxes of ballots being flown in in the eleventh hour on election night etc. etc. I don't think it's that much of a reach to say there will likely be some attempts by Republicans to disenfranchise democratic voters, as that sort of thing is almost baked into the calculus at this point. |

Despite the jokes/donations, I've never pumped the brakes with doubting democrats on this whole Harris hattrick. It's not even an issue of overall message or candidate, it's the window they've had to a) introduce an almost complete stranger to huge portions of the nation and b) figure out a way to convince low info people the economy's not as bad as people think it is.
This was always gonna be a race against the clock for her team, and I'm not convinced they've done the best with her limited time. I'm seeing lots of TV and YouTube spots but I still don't know a great deal about her platform beyond "we're not going back" and "GOP = weird". You can't just bank on the abortion issue helping to deliver another failed red wave. And they've got nobody to blame but themselves, frankly, because if ol' Joe really wanted to put country first he would've stepped aside when it really counted, without the establishment dems tacitly threatening to make his remaining months in office a wide-awake nightmare.

Trump won't win the popular vote for a third consecutive attempt and it will ultimately come down to Republicans causing some sort of upheaval over any positive outcome for the left.
If the Republicans win, it will be marketed as the greatest "statement" our nation has ever made to take back control from the lawless thugs and all kinds of other wink/nudge racist shit, etc.

Her term ends in a few days. I have seen only speculation from unreliable sources and I would guess (because I am very smart) that Harris admin would be reluctant to have to go through the process of getting replacements confirmed, because there's going to be as much obfuscation from the GOP as possible (which is most of what they've been doing for the past four years).

Then they should've been hammering at the economy stuff effectively with "GOP = weird" style blanket messages repeated down the line of rank-and-file democrats. Trump's big tactic's always been repetition; he repeats lies long enough that people believe and repeat it. In this case, democrats wouldn't even need to lie, just repeat the same clever way to take air out of Trump's economy claims. I dunno, I just refuse to believe this campaign can raise a half billion in 3 months yet not cobble together a "READ MY LIPS: NO NEW TAXES" moment that window-licking mutants in this country will easily recall from their 28KB hard disk memory. |

I could be remembering things completely wrong, so I don’t want wanna malign him cuz I can’t easily cite the source. Not being sarcastic or funny, I always thought he knew his shit and would lead an accomplished life. So, hanging my hopes on that.
