It might be firing up as much of the republican base as it is the dems, I would think. For sure. Looking at raw voting primary totals in vulnerable house races is reassuring. Down ballot would boost Dem senate hopefuls. Still holding on to an 8 point generic ballot lead. www.google.com/amp/s/www.nbcnews.com/think/amp/ncna915416

all this alert showed me is that now the white house can access the E911 chip in every single phone in the united states and track you via GPS Do you have a better source for this than a tweet from a well documented wacko? didnt we already learn this from Edward Snowden?

Do you have a better source for this than a tweet from a well documented wacko? didnt we already learn this from Edward Snowden? and before Snowden we knew this if you read the news in 2005 ...and before that we knew this if you had the time to read the text of the patriot act back in 2001. all of this is public information and because of that insane law, its completely legal.

I'm pretty sure I, as a natural- born, white male, could kidnap and torture anyone with more than a freckle's worth of melanin as long as I shouted "PATRIOT ACT!" at some point while doing it.

well i know for a fact that the E911 accesses GPS. he said some wacky shit about it being able to access your entire phone, camera, etc, which isn't true. but yeah any of those alerts like Amber alert, FEMA or whatever, all use access to the E911 chip. Not only that, but it’s ridiculously easy to access anyone’s location/calls if you’re a government agency. Hell, the fbi have pop up labs inside some cell towers and could skim through calls to access

I still don't think I understand some of the shit in The Big Short, even after watching it a few times.

I don't understand the math on the cloture vote because I am terrible with numbers. If 51-49 voted to go to a vote, doesn't that mean he wins? If it's 50-50 then Pence will just confirm him. Or are there potential no-votes who only voted to move it forward so that they can hurry up and keep him from being confirmed?

There are two commenters on that article that are nuts but one of them wrote some of the most misogynistic things I've ever read.

Or are there potential no-votes who only voted to move it forward so that they can hurry up and keep him from being confirmed? They could still change their votes. Collins voted yes on the cloture vote but could vote no on the confirmation vote, and so could dumb hick Joe Manchin. If they both voted no and Murkowski voted no again, the final vote would be 49-51 and Kavanaugh's nomination would fail.

The dude is getting confirmed, they knew this the second he was nominated. They need to just end this kangaroo court ass political theatre and get it over with.

Who knows what will happen... but it's all on Murkowski who voted no today and will most likely vote no. I can't see how a no vote would make sense today and not tomorrow but such are the times. Collins is revealing her vote at 3. Manchin (GOD HELP US) voted yes and probably will vote yes. Chris Coons is best buds with Flake and has been working him. I wouldn't be surprised if he does some Maverick (TM) "legacy saving" vote and gets 50 years of fawning redemption.

collins is voting yes. especially since her office hasn't even been answering constituents calls for the past week or so. she's retiring in 2020 and most likely does not give a fuck.
good thing we're going to have a SC justice who's never tried a case before.

If she’s retiring and doesn’t give a fuck it’s even more of a reason to vote no You're assuming she's a moral person who wants good things. This is a mistake. The only reason this woman, a GOP ghoul, would vote NO is because she's afraid of voter backlash. Retiring? No voter backlash to worry about. Vote your heart. Which for her, is nakedly evil.

If she’s retiring and doesn’t give a fuck it’s even more of a reason to vote no except she's a garbage rep who votes on the party line 80% of the time. Kavanaugh was on a list of candidates she pre-approved months ago. she was always going to vote yes. on the plus side if she does decide to run in 2020, they've already raised 1.8 million for her future opponent's campaign
