my household carbon footprint based on the old EPA website is less than half the american average. and we really aren't doing anything remarkable:
-about 16k traveled by car in a year @ 34 mpg
-ac set to 72, heat set to 65
-blackout curtains
-led lights, lights off in the day time, nothing on unless you're using it
-cold wash clothes, hang dry about half of them
-two bags worth of recycling, one bag worth of trash every week
if you look at monthly utilities used by state, the more conservative areas always consume more resources and create more waste per capita. part of that is the logistic challenge of geography but i think a bigger part of that is culture. i have a hard time believing that economically anxious whites bother to turn the faucet off when they brush their teeth when these people burn their trash in their front yards and fuck with their fuel chippies so their impractical trucks can roll coal on fagtard liberals.
