My gym will only allow Fox News on two of the 14 or so TVs, so it's funny to see the trash people on machines next to each other when there's room elsewhere. my work won't put the news on in the break room anymore because someone got offended by "fake news on cnn" so now we're only allowed to watch HGTV and Food Network. but libtards are the snowflakes right. |

I know you meant this as a morbid joke, but people don't understand how just how close we are to crossing that line. May we never forget this period in American history. This nation needs to wear that badge of shame forever. My grandparents worked under fake social security numbers for 20 years. They left Mexico to avoid prosecution, my grandpa refused to pay some bribes and shit got bad for them. They're in the process of becoming citizens, but they can't properly retire and their eligibility for social security is in doubts. They paid their fucking taxes for 20 years, but people think WE are leaching off of them. The immigrant community is tight-knit so you hear peoples experiences, you don't understand the kind of trauma immigrants face. Unreported rapes. Poverty. No access to healthcare. You'd see old people limping in the orchards still picking fruit because their family could not afford to care for them. Go walk through immigrant labor camps, if you see trailers, then it's one of the good labor camps, mostly its families living in tents being hauled around the us in old buses picking the fruit and veggies americans buy at whole foods and shit. Those tent camps are some of the hardest shit I've seen and despite everything they go through, my people endure to try and make something better for the next generation. My family has been one of the lucky ones thanks to my parents and the work they put in, but hearing about the reality most immigrant families face is enough to bring me to tears sometimes. |
