"Top lobbying affairs officials for pharmaceutical giant Merck and entertainment company 21st Century Fox have hosted Buttigieg’s husband, Chasten Buttigieg, for high-dollar fundraisers in Geneva and London. And a former top aide to former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg who is now a registered lobbyist in New York hosted Pete Buttigieg himself for a fundraiser in Manhattan." I don't know a single person who supports this guy, yet he's rolling in cash. I think white boomer women who “are waiting for the right female candidate” like him because he’s slightly effeminate and gay. At least that’s why my white boomer mom seems to like him. Then again my 25 yr old brother loves yang and my pops like Joey B so maybe don’t use her as an example.

I liked Buttigieg a lot when he was first surging because I felt like he had a really inspiring message about generational change and is just really fucking smart. He draws a good contrast to Trump and can articulate his points really well.

That dude is the walking thesis of Barbara Ehrenreich/Thomas Frank's work. It's unbearable.

If there's a second term i'm predicting an assassination. Calling it now.
Fuck, both Nixon and Clinton both apologized, showed contrition/remorse and stepped down. We're dealing with an entirely different animal now. Someone with zero compassion who puts himself before his country, every other country and anyone who disagrees with him. It gets to the point where there's only one way to stop a person like that.

JFK got clipped in term 1 for being too mouthy in bed with East German spies. Trump is a bona fide Russian asset and not a goddamn thing has happened.

So how do you feel about him now that his message has basically shifted to "fuck you Bernie and Liz, better things aren't possible"? Not as good obviously. The difficulty here is voter share. Bernie and liz are basically going after the same group, but Buttigieg cant really get that group so hes shifted to capture Biden's falling star as the "moderate" but it just rings hollow. It's a really shitty strategy.

Bernie and liz are basically going after the same group, They really aren't though. Warren supporters are white, upper middle class college educated types. The professional managerial class. Bernie supporters are the working poor, lower class and far more ethnically diverse. His top donor profession is public school teacher and the top three employers of his donations are employees of walmart, amazon and starbucks.

yeah Warren spouts "middle class" as much as Biden. which basically means white people.
Bernie is the only candidate that actually uses the term "working class".
they dont use it cause it " doesn't poll as well as middle class". Bernie says fuck that

That's not it. All I hear from Sanders supporters, nonstop, is how all they care about is someone who will make a material difference in people's lives by changing their living/working conditions, etc. etc. But whenever someone is asked what the substantive differences are that make them prefer Sanders over Warren, for example, the answer is *invariably* "BuT HeR SuPpOrTeRs ArE wHiTe" or "ShE wAs A rEpUbLiCaN" or something equally non-specific and non-substantive. The most annoying one to me is "He came up with all these policy ideas that the other candidates have now co-opted." Well, good thing it's not an originality contest then, it's a literal popularity contest. Who gives a flat-out fuck who comes up with an idea in the political sphere
