I think the young guy Rogan/Kill Tony/Tim Dillon listeners are a new voting demographic that will have legit consequences for dems. Dudes who think they’re much smarter than they are that will reflexively vote Republican cuz they hate woke shit and think they’re smarter than they are. Not social cons, cuz they are fine with abortion and think dense nuggs of fat buds is cool, but will be intractable voters who just won’t cross over. Most of those people are already written into the Trump vote though. Trump's largely found who supports him, and it's probably good for 46-48% every voting cycle (as evidenced by his inability to win the popular vote on two separate occasions). Very few people in 2024 are just now stumbling across Donald Trump's "platform" for the first time. MGTOW incel Joe Rogan freaks coming of voting age aren't gonna turn the tide as much as simple undecided independents will. I think a potentially decent chunk of these not particularly engaged or reliable voters will hit their 30s and just naturally slide into steady Republican voters. And that wouldn’t have necessarily happened without the podcast bros as their lodestar.

white trash of deindustrializationville Ohio furious that Haitians are the only ones in town with jobs nailed it Yeah, but those are jobs that real members of the community deserve. This is why we’re in a recession.

It’s how they get most of their news. One of my buddies just got a ph d in neuroscience and he’s thinking RFK jr is kinda cool cuz Tim Dillon says so.

If polls don't change and are off like 2016 and 2020 then Trump wins, if they're off like 2018 and 2022 then Harris wins.

lol we arent in a recession (although that term is so watered down anyways bc you can get 7 different answers from 7 different economists on what the definition of recession is). having said that, inflation and shrinkflation is still rampant

There is a workforce shortage problem (predominantly public sector but not exclusively) and a public finance problem, both of which were brewing pre-Covid but have accelerated exponentially after lockdowns, etc. ended. There's commercial vacancy rates, there's a lack of public sector accountants, there's a lack of frontline public sector workers, there's an overreliance on shiny high-tech solutions that don’t work but get people excited, and there's the inability of wages to keep pace with housing expenses. That's not a recession, but it is bad. Very bad!

I <3 community engagement I can’t not think about zoning everyday because of my wife’s job and all of the anger and resentment about every proposed development. There is literally one stretch in the whole valley that ever encounters what one could consider traffic (resulting in an additional 2-5 mins of extra travel time, if you take that way, at peak times). So far, none of the new developments have squeezed the roadways with traffic. The joke in the planning world is everyone is a traffic engineer when a development is proposed. Also hasn’t been increased crime (that comes up a lot). In fact, people like to link Mexicans doing crimes with development. I assume because there are some Mexicans who work construction. So, if you see Mexicans—and there weren’t that many here 10 or 20 years ago—safe to assume they’re also criminals.

Part of it, as discussed, is right wingers think the cities have fallen or are at least uniquely unsafe compared to pre-Biden. So, increased density gets you closer to looking like a city, which is where the devil lives.

The MBTA Communities Act requires 177 communities served by the MBTA to zone for multifamily housing. Communities risk losing access to certain state grants if it fails to comply by Dec. 31. Coupled with our savior and transit GOD Phil Eng Finally feels like MA is doing what needs to be done. NIMBYs BTFO

Big egg on my face cum November, hopefully. She’s gaining more and more momentum as the days go by. She’s not a strong candidate by any means but she will most likely win over Trump. I think she wins Pennsylvania by 1 percent and North Carolina by 2 percent.
