people were getting an extra $600/week on top of regular unemployment starting in like april of 2020 plus the initial $1200 checks an additional $600 check etc before biden took office in january 2021. stop. You’re fucking wrong, dude. This isn’t something where there’s widespread disagreement. Writing people checks isn’t meant to give workers leverage. Expanding labor standards, certain tax credits, and unemployment insurance is. it all comes back to people having short attention spans. why would anyone have positive memories of letting all of those things expire after a year and being like “welp folks we’re getting things back to normal now. all those precautions and restrictions we’ve been taking don’t matter anymore. back to work you go!”? |

the epic based trad working class patriots yearn for George W Bush 2.0 the problem with 80 year old presidents/politicians. instead of only having a minimum age to be president there should be a maximum age as well. so they actually care about what happens in the next 30 years and not just the next 5 cause they’re gonna die anyway so just looking to make a quick buck There should be age limits but the people who voted for him obviously don't give a fuck so what is the incentive to change? |

Been thinking about a convo overheard at work and my coworker saying her and her fiance probably aren't going to ever afford a down payment on a house because how expensive their wedding is going to be and how it relates to this election.
It also helped me realize that paying someone dude who lived in his car $50 to "officiate" my wedding outside a courthouse was 100% the right move.
