Extremely jealous. I volunteered for a local progressive campaign all year, during which our 31-year incumbent mayor had never even been seen at any city events until a month before election day. Literally just showed up at the end of the cycle and plastered gigantic signs everywhere instead of actually reaching out to their voter base, and everyone just voted for the corporate Dem cuz he had the right letter next to his name.
Here's a video of the mayor using a DPW worker to destroy our campaign materials. Shit is straight up illegal and nothing will happen to hold anyone accountable, and the working class and immigrant families who are the backbone of our self-revitalizing economy will get the short end of the stick in lieu of more and more tax cuts to Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, Princeton and Rutgers Universities, and Bristol Myers Squibb.
Shit's got me depressed and feeling defeated. I know electoralism is bullshit yadda yadda, but it really felt like he was gonna win for a second and this shit has me unsure if I want to continue in local organizing.
