Russia has basically been angling for this shit since the "end" of the "cold war." I don't think we are going to have anything comparable to WW2 sufficient to call this a "World War" but yeah, this shit is real bad.

Israel and Palestine have been in a pseudo-war for years. Until other countries start sending troops to help either side it’s just going to continue.

Obviously what Hamas did is terrible and likely to just make things worse for Gaza and the West Bank, but the western media acting like Israel and its settlers aren’t constantly subjecting Palestinians to similar terror nonstop is pretty sickening. It’s just unavoidable collateral damage when the IDF do it.

I don't think Hamas actually gives a single shit about the Palestinian people, which is why I can't support them and their tactics. Palestine is yet another unfortunate pawn in a proxy war between the US and Russia. Hamas exists to destabilize American/Western interests in the Middle East. Hamas forecloses the possibility Israel will ever endorse a two-state solution, ensuring a permanent resource draining war in America's only stronghold in the Middle East. Open to other interpretations because it's been a while since I've brushed up on geopolitics in the area, but Russia essentially laying out its gameplan through Dugin three decades ago, and then following the playbook leads me to feel like any concern for the Palestinian people from any global power is bullshit.

"Israel might maybe occasionally do a bad thing" (which is of course a massive understatement) is something the media simply will not/has not ever so much as entertained.
Those motherfuckers were best friends with Apartheid South Africa and blew up a nuke in the Indian Ocean, shrugged when asked about it, have blasted civilians, children and foreign aidworkers in the head with rifles for decades, continued to encroach on what *should be* sovereign territory, the current President bragged about shutting down the only real chance at peace in the Oslo accords, and has never made any sort of attempt since, was an actual driving force in getting Yitzhak Rabin killed, is far from the most most extreme right-wing (who are openly genocidal and have considerable support) in Israeli politics, and the only thing the media has ever said is that Palestinians are so lucky and should be grateful that Israel allows them to exist.
Hamas are outright fucking morons, always have been, and there's zero excuse for massacring civilians but the typical media discussion about Israel and Palestine is just plain ol' fucked.
