I've received five raises in the past two and a half years and somehow don't feel any better off than I was before any of them. Really not living beyond my means either.

We need a NEW new deal (an NND), massive government expansion, restore corporate and upper tax rates to 90%. Give the influencer class blue collar jobs building the next gen renewable power infrastructure including gig speed internet nationwide, forestry service to assist with wildfire and national disaster response teams, high speed rail, full pensions, learn a trade, restore dignity to all work, redefine civic participation, free trade school for all high school graduates, nationwide freeze on content creators and streamers, destruction of the gig economy, robust middle class, and affordable single family homes. Vote for me.

Job growth means nothing in the context of wage stagnation (which is doubly worse in the face of inflation) and cost of living skyrocketing. It just means people are getting second jobs to survive. That's a bullshit stat. Actual inflation and rising cost of living expenses has slowed substantially, people are partially just refusing to accept that market changed since the pandemic and their spending patterns have not changed. Even though the supply chain is back on line, companies aren't gunna roll back prices that people are still paying just so they can make less money. Bitching about how it's the governments responsibility to give me back the things I'm used to isn't how government works either. Never go full Friedman. |
