How anyone thought he had the juice is perplexing. he wen't from winning the florida governorship by .4% to winning by 20% which was the widest margin of victory since 1982. he turned the country's most valuable swing state into a gop stronghold. it wasn't unreasonable to think he could make a run.

Ron's wife was really the brains (and everything else) of his state campaigning operations.

I'm confused, are those two acting like they're not part of the managerial class? Or are they embracing their roles as villains without even recognizing they're villains?

The real divide isn’t black vs. white or even Democrat vs. Republican. It’s my foot vs. your asshole, which will split your body in half.

Do I have to gleefully support Biden? I feel like I can just look at, like, very basic standards for a functioning federal government and realize that Biden is dramatically more competent than Trump. If you have any kinda of job that involves working for or with the federal government, it’s blisteringly clear.

Biden's done a much better job filling out the cabinet and limiting turnaround. There's something to be said about consistency/continuity, look at Trump's staff during his presidency. It was a revolving door. Beyond that, he filled it with people (via quid pro quo, presumably) who had no business doing the job. Look no further than his dumb kids being lent a shred of legitimacy during his four years in office.
I'm not a Biden guy but I have more confidence in him operating at 70% speed with 50+ years of public service than I do Trump. And that's even if you somehow gloss over Trump's pretty obvious flirtations with autocracy. This whole "he's an outsider, maybe he'll fix things and run them like a business" thing died within weeks of Trump's inauguration.

Honestly I’d take Narc’s pragmatic stances itt over Sean’s revolutionary fantasy which would just result in the senseless loss of life. 🤷🏻♂️
Come wake me up when there is an actual labor movement in America instead of some tribal idealogical circle jerk.

Good riddance to Ron DeSanctimonius, whose endorsement I did not ask for! Unfortunately for Ron his beautiful wife does not respect him and that is obvious to all. When we had dinner at Mar a Lago she was throwing herself at me desperately, it was very sad. For real I love how Trump acknowledged DeSantis dropping out by saying basically, “he ran a cute campaign, I got to know his wife a lot recently and she’s a real firecracker.” Trump gonna bang his wife

Both have value. Pragmatism helps with tangible albeit mostly short-term gains, but it means nothing without believing in and advocating for a better world.

If you have any kinda of job that involves working for or with the federal government, it’s blisteringly clear. We must turn away from all projects that claim to be global or radical. In fact we know from experience that the claim to escape from the system of contemporary reality so as to produce the overall programs of another society, of another way of thinking, another culture, another vision of the world, has led only to the return of the most dangerous traditions.
I prefer the very specific transformations that have proved to be possible in the last twen'ty years in a certain number of areas that concern our ways of being and thinking, relations to authority, relations between the sexes, the way in which we perceive insanity or illness; I prefer even these partial transformations that have been made in the correlation of historical analysis and the practical attitude, to the programs for a new man that the worst political systems have repeated throughout the twen'tieth century.
