If superficial political engagement leads to actual political engagement 1/100th of the time, then it's okay by me I guess. I suppose that one could contrast that with the possibility of oversaturation only encouraging more apathy but also I don't care that much either way What if that actual political engagement is 2 or more people that don't know what they're talking about? |

I skip through people’s political stuff and it’s not a judgement it’s that social media feels like an illegitimate platform for meaningful discussion of anything. Prople pay attention to social media political content because of the perverse pleasure of feeling guilty. You feel morally responsible for knowing more about more and more about complicated important shit but you never end up taking the time to understand any of it at all and the cycle just repeats
