Maybe I just live in a bubble but I have friends/family that range from basically homeless to insanely rich, from suburb, city, to farm life. Most still voted for Harris but believe immigration/crime are spiking. A majority of them truly believe illegal immigrant is the only factor that matters. Numbers mean nothing to show how crime isn't from immigration and that the workforce of illegals is actually a good thing for the economy. Hell the housing crisis is helped by the immigrants with construction.
It just feels like feeding peoples want to blame something while just making up statistics or cherrypicking them at best results in a vast majority of people buying into the shit.

The effectiveness of the Republican propaganda apparatus really cannot be overstated. It has the most money, the most power, the most reach, and a simple message that seems to always work on the people with the frailest egos and dullest minds. Yesterday I got certified copies of my dad’s German adoption record after a 7 month wait. Been in contact with the German consulate in Chicago for months now. Lady thinks my passport request will go through but that process takes like 1-2 years. Might actually be able to sell my house and leave before Donny retires mid term and let’s JD run the ship. |

Reminds me to stay vigilant with my daughter and son about discussing basic morality and virtue as they get older. Life is messy and weighing so many variables means compromise, but I don’t want them ever approvingly shouting a rapist’s name in public.
