Technically there was with Dean Phillips and Marianne Williamson. Biden just didn't participate the same way that Trump didn't and still got 87% of the vote.

Nobody realizes yet the tail that this Trump presidency is going to have, I don't think. He's got the wind at his back. He'll claim credit for the infrastructure projects that will likely continue to get doled out; he'll claim any tanking in the economy in the next year was Biden's fault, and claim credit for any rebound. He'll claim Ukraine's downfall is Biden's fault. He'll take credit for the "peace" that comes once Gaza is beachfront property and Ukraine is divided into East and West. We are looking at 30 years at least of Republican super majority on the Supreme Court. AT LEAST. Any hope you had of some kind of leftist revolution is DEAD. You can forget it. Acting like Kamala and Trump were the same could cost my daughter her life. I have absolutely nothing in my heart but rage. When the rage subsides, there's just numbness. We are so beyond fucked it's difficult to wrap my head around it.
Anyway, back to work at my stupid little job.

I wish I knew how to articulate this better, but I don't think a group or person is really at fault here. The reality is that Western countries who were either founded on and/or thrived off colonization are in steep decline, and we are now seeing the chickens coming home to roost for the centuries worth of turmoil we've caused.
Like Canada is about to elect their own version of Trump and things I never thought would happen like health care becoming privatized are already in motion. It's so over, unless people on the left are actually organized enough and ready to overthrow the government... And let's be honest, they're not.
