I never watched those YouTuber Twitch guys but saw one of them do this weird format where there is a clock and 25 people play musical chairs to debate? Talk about crass entertainment! Mayor Pete, Shapiro, it's a thing I guess. It was astonishing how misinformed most of them were and no basic agreement of terminology. The two biggest issues to them were inflation and immigration but none of them understood anything and would just scream names killed by undocumented immigrants or the price of goods before Biden if they were given an accurate timeline of legislation and deeper structural explanations. Deeeeeeply bleak. They're hard-rocking and politics is just another channel on the computer for them. |

probably not much that hasn’t been said I can’t even remember, was there an inciting incident that sent him packing or just death by a thousand cuts? KBS got his ass and he RIP in peaced shortly after James' obsession with purity tests and instant disqualification is equally admirable and sad. On the one hand, his exacting standards in the face of our society's constant need to qualify and equivocate everything is refreshingly old-fashioned and harkens back to a noble sort of "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" style of politics. But on the other hand, he is constantly set up for disappointment because his standards are impossible to meet, and he frequently moves the goal posts to disqualify people or things he doesn't like on inarticulable principles that seem concocted in the moment. He deifies the things he likes or ascribes to so that they all but HAVE to fail him. Sopranos movie? Not good enough. Here's my spec script. Bernie? Sell out. Power Trip? Sell outs. Hardcore? Cooked. Etc. Etc. Etc. His failure to accept and work within the imperfections of the world belies his own deep-seated feelings of inadequacy and his own imperfections. Let us love you James. It's ok. |
