"Compared with the good Mr. Biden can do, the cost of dismissing Tara Reade — and, worse, weakening the voices of future survivors — is worth it."
Holy shit, lmao.

Biden's handlers should just let him go full crazy until the election. I fully expect him to openly swear at Trump during the debates, maybe even wander over to Trump's podium to poke him in the chest while reprimanding him for something.

You can’t? It’s pretty obvious that the media doesn’t give an actual fuck about Tara Reade.

The Khalessi Elizabeth Warren said she believes Biden over Reade, so people can basically say whatever they want now. No one gives a shit.

It’s because they all think the problem is solely trump. Which I guess it is for the neolibs. He’s saying all the things the subscribe to, but were meant for behind closed doors only.

The way most neolibs see it I'm guessing is that Trump is like a gaping wound that is bleeding the country out. That same body is riddled with cancer and other ailments, but the first priority is just to stop the bleeding. We can't even begin to address the other problems until Trump is gone. A second Trump presidency without the concern of reelection looming would be absolutely disastrous for women and people of color, and it's not worth the possibility that democrats "learn their lesson" or whatever infantile bullshit you think will happen if Biden doesn't win. At this point, either Biden is forced to drop out, in which case, the ensuing disaster all but assures Trump's second term, or Biden is the nominee and we are faced with the impossibly awful choice of continuing with a presumptive rapist as our president, or voting for a different rapist who might pick a good replacement for RBG. Either way, a rapist is our president. America the Beautiful.

What if Biden came out at the debates and was like "Yeah, I raped that lady. My son Hunter is corrupt. I do live in a trailer with mom. My friend Barack is an Uncle Tom."

It's a concept known as utilitarianism. Been around for a minute. Is utilitarianism inherently contradictory? I'm legit not trying to be a dickhead I'm just curious because all of these liberals feminists are saying they're being utilitarian but it just sounds like a cop-out to me.

Either way, a rapist is our president. America the Beautiful. I think that's Trump's ultimate appeal to voters, though. He's basically been saying yeah I'm a bad guy but I don't hide it like all of these other people in Washington do. And to all of the anti-govt people, I can get why it's appealing.

I think utilitarianism is widely considered a bankrupt form of moral and societal justice. It's being used broadly here to mean "I'm pretending my vote for a rapist has a moral undergirding."

Utilitarianism is not contradictory. It does, however, force people to bite the bullet in some marginal scenarios. Peter Singer, for example, is known colloquially as an animal rights activist, but he doesn't believe in rights at all--for anyone, human or non-human. His beliefs are about promoting the max good. So there are some cases where it would be morally acceptable, according to Singer, to kill and eat an animal. Utilitarianism has plenty of flaws, and it's been heavily modified in since Bentham/Mill to make it more practical (e.g. something like rule-consequentialism). But I think in terms of "folk morality," utilitarianism still wins the day.
EDIT: I think what people are trying to get at by pointing at these op-eds as being hypocritical is that for Biden, they want to be utilitarians. If it were a republican, they would take a deontological approach (i.e. under no circumstances is it morally permissible for someone who commits sexual assault to be president). THAT is contradictory and is fair to point out.
