The old mall i used to go to in Dover, NJ back in the '90s had a great record store. Actually bought LPs there by Septic Death, Rudimentary Peni and Sacred Denial.

Mohawk Mall they had a Media Play which had everything from music, video tape, video game and toy that place was great Mohawk Mall was awesome, or what little I can remember of it. I vividly remember skating in the parking lot when they had closed down most of the mall.

Did any of you guys have an Aladdinβs Castle in your mall? That arcade was so rad. No, but I have heard of that chain of arcades before. I guess there were lots of them?

Good Christ, those pebble encrusted walls! The fact that Luna pizza is STILL THERE is a damn miracle. I still go there with my Mom when I'm in town. I was just there last week, and if you stand in front of Luna and think about it really hard, you can remember where Kay Bee, Radio Shack, Regis Salon, Waldenbooks, Bennet's Card Shop, and Record Town were. Paperback Booksmith was adjacent to Bob's, but I don't remember the one next to that. Shout out to Joanne's Nut Haus, and Baubles Bangles and Beads for all the ear piercing. The side hallway where Themes and Tons of Fun was is still there, i think there's an office in there now

Would go like once a month with my best friend and spend my entire allowance at the arcade and shoplift CDs and magic cards, until a close call with my friend trying to boost a whole box a magic boosters and a security guard following me into another store. That scared the shit out of me.

I grew up in a small town in NC so it was wack as fuck. Arcade was on point though. My moms family lives near Tysonβs Corner bear DC and I was fucking blown away the first time I walked in there.

Tyson's corner is a pox on humanity. that place needs to be razed. it only exists so white people who work in the district can shop without seeing as many minorities.

The mall pretty much raised me as a kid. My weekend routine from 2nd to 5th grade was to rent a video game from family video on Friday, game all night and eat junk food, then on Saturday Iβd tag along with my older bro to the mall where Iβd proceed to blow alll my allowance at the arcade.

Greenville, lived there until 2001. You're not wrong about Tyson's, I remember being super young going in there and thinking "There's TWO stories!?!?!?" There was a skate shop in the mall when I was a kid and I remember going in there and hearing Modest Mouse for the first time (Tiny City Made Of Ashes).

I grew up 15 minutes from one of the largest malls in the country (Mall of America is bigger cause they have an amusement park, King of Prussia has more retail space). When I was a kid I thought every mall was that big. I used to go often for cds, books, and skate clothes. Once I was older, I realized that the mall stole all business from the surrounding towns in the 70s. Which is exactly why the town I grew up in was financially busted with a terrible school system and a very high violent crime rate.
I hope that mall implodes.

I would get lost in King of Prussia as a jit almost every time my mom took me, I think I even started getting lost on purpose for some reason.

it was a shitty outlet mall that ppl from all over the surrounding area would inexplicably go to. there were always creepy sailor dudes who were on break from the navy or some shit and would hang around everywhere. it was shaped like a big Z so youβd have to walk all the way from one end to the other and back, which is mostly what we did. there was a movie theater and a rainforest cafe and a games workshop and a hot topic and a circuit city and 2 food courts. also a long hallway with mirrors on both sides for some reason.

I wen't to King of Prussia mall once or twice on TIHC trips. Once in a footlocker an employee stopped me, not to sell me shoes, but to ask me if I made beats. "Uhhh yeah how'd you know" "you just look like the typa fella that make beats," and then we swapped emails and neither of our rap careers ever popped off.

As for my childhood mall, it's pretty unimpressive, but I loved having Sbarro, Sam Goody, Aladdins Castle, KB Toys, and the cassette store across from it. I LOVE malls though and I'm super sad that they're on their way out. Pretty much any new town I go to, I gotta check out their mall. They're pretty much all kinda the same with varying degrees of sadness these days. I used to live near this one. Hard to tell from the map, but it totally feels like it's swastika shaped when you walk through it. The mall in Joplin, MO has a high school attached which is real weird, right?
