I wen't down a high thought hole even for me the other day. In my mind I equated shooting up heroin to masturbating and not controlling oneself to be able to stop masturbating. Everyone knows it’s wrong; society, the kids, the person doing the masturbating. It’s clearly unhealthy all around, but you’re just so addicted to masturbating that you can’t stop it. I felt it was a perfect comparison and wondered why no one else thought of it, as well as laughing my ass off the more I thought about scenarios when I would masturbate. In the grocery store, ordering a hot dog at a baseball game, taking out a library book, etc. My gf didn’t know what the fuck I was trying to say but at least I was having a good time. |

Ugh, flyingwhales, I hope you do OK. I was almost certain my current job would test so as soon as I interviewed I stopped smoking. I'm a pretty heavy user, but it took 6 weeks before a home test showed me as clear. Onboarding was super-slow so I knew I had the time but it was so dicey testing every week and still seeing that line, not to mention abstaining 100% for the first time in almost 20 years. Turns out my "occupational health screening" was just to confirm and/or update my vaccines; no piss test. I got fucking RIPPED when I got home form it. |

Monday I took a home test and it came back with a faint line in the negative. I believe some labs test for smaller concentrations than the home tests (15ng/ml vs 50ng/ml) so it still could go awry. But I scheduled my test for next Wednesday. I’ve been slamming water (In addition time changing my diet to lots of fiber and little fat) and actually the other day I started waking up with kidney pain, so I reeled it back a bit because I thought i was drinking too much. The pains gotten worse so I’m in the hospital right now waiting to get an X-ray. I think it’s a kidney stone. Weird timing. But yeah, I only smoke like 1-2 bowls a night and I’ve been an off-and-on smoker since high school. Every now and then I detox myself just to reset my tolerance and to remind myself that I don’t need dense nuggs of fat buds. And I recently had an interview at another place about a month ago so I was taking it easy then as well. Not totally abstaining, but keeping my intake at a reasonable level. Once I got that negative result on my home test on Monday it lifted a huge weight off my shoulders. |

I had some butter left in the fridge from my last edible cook, and I'm lazy as fuck. Soooooo, I just put 7g on a piece of toast and ate it. Hoo wee, I'm only a half hour in and already feeling great. Usually takes me 45 minutes to a full hour to feel full effects so. this is gonna be a great day!

It's noticeably kicking in now, an hour later, but I can already tell that it's not going to do much. My thing is that I just lack the patience for edibles, but I really need to cut down on the act of smoking, so I'm going to have to get used to it.
