Thanks everyone for your kind words. I cant lie, this has been a really hard thing to get through, especially for my wife, but we are going to try again in a few months. I'm already so scared it'll happen again but I guess it's worth the try. I really do appreciate yall being understanding, this has left me a big sense of loneliness. It's so worth it. Before my little guy arrived I never cared much about babies and was really on the fence about kids in general, but my view has flipped 180. It's impossible to talk about how it impacts you without sounding like a born-again Christian or something. And as a result I've literally teared up a few times thinking about what you and your wife must be going through. Please know this stranger is wishing the both of you the best.

I know this is a very personal question, but my wife just had a miscarriage and we are really having hard time emotionally right now. Has anyone else gone through this? If so, any advice or resources you recommend would be appreciated. Pregnancy loss is huge. My close friend lost her baby 2 years ago and has a lot of information and helpful resources on this site: www.ToLoganwithLove.com ❤️

She found out of the pregnancy due to the miscarriage. She and her husband kept very tight and supportive of each other, it was what kept them alright, and how they got through what happened.

Wife and I are headed to the hospital tonight to induce labor and hopefully deliver sometime tomorrow. Kind of cant believe this day is finally here, simultaneously super excited and terrified.

Good luck!
My wife wen't into labor 3 weeks early, which I think saved me a lot of stress, because it was completely out of the blue.

I've got two. Both were born at home in a birthing pool. The coolest and most emotional experiences of my life.

Healthy baby girl came this morning. The birth was a pretty eye opening experience to say the least, I have a whole new sense of admiration and respect for my wife for going through that with the best attitude. Kid keeps getting cuter by the minute, currently have her resting skin to skin on my chest while the wife snoozes. Feeling very grateful today.

Really good way to track her first year of life. Welcome to the girl dad gang btw.

Was not aware of that app. I would have loved seeing a video like that of my daughter.

Been a wild 5 plus weeks since my daughter was born. I feel like I wasn't really prepared for the level of exhaustion I would experience the the first two weeks of her being alive, but thankfully she's able to get some solid chunks of sleep through the night now. Sadly my wife lost her Dad unexpectedly the other week, so the baby has been a huge distraction for us and has been a real beacon of positivity for the whole family. I'm back to work now, thankfully from home so I can still help out here and there, and honestly when my wife brings her over to her Moms place I miss her so much.

Did night 1 of sleep training last night. Oof. We really weren't prepared to just listen to her screaming bloody murder and let it go after 4+ months of comforting her when that happened. Such a bummer. Eventually she wore herself out and got a few stretched of multiple hours of sleep, so hoping tonight and the next few nights are a little bit easier.

Sleep training was the most difficult but best decision we made for the whole family. Are you doing cry it out or Ferber?

We did co-sleeping. Bought beds with added rails. Sounds like a chore but once it's gone you miss it. Eventually they learn.

Friday night we stayed in a hotel with her for the first time. We'd done the pack n' play with no issues but never in the same room. She was thrilled at first but got annoyed with us. Also had to hear her snoring and now we're worried she has pediatric sleep apnea.
TL;DR staying in a hotel with a small child sucks ass

We did Ferber at five months and it took within three? days, although he would always fuss for a few minutes once we put him down. Then he wen't through his 12-month sleep regression and we had to re-train him, which was extra complicated by the fact that he could now stand up his crib and cruise around. That took a little longer and little more will on our part. The thing to remember is that it DOES work.

I think the biggest thing is consistency. Whatever you choose to do, try to stick with it and see it through.
Something else is that every kid is different. We did Ferber for my son and it worked great. We did the gradual method of letting him crying for 5 minutes, comfort and put him back down, cry for 10 minutes, comfort, cry for 15 min, comfort, etc. I literally had to block my wife from getting him at one point. We did this for a few nights and he was pretty well trained afterward.
My daughter was another case altogether. We did the co-sleep thing for a while, and then transitioned. Ferber did not work for her because she is fucking persistent and will not back down. Eventually, things worked out after rocking her to sleep most nights, which I know you're not supposed to do. She would get up on occasion, but it eventually worked it's way out.

TL;DR staying in a hotel with a small child sucks ass It sure does. My 2yo sleeps so well every night, but when we travel its such a crap shoot. We don't co-sleep at ALL at home, but it's the only way to survive while traveling it seems. Here are my two little ladies. It's been a long time since I have posted from a computer and not my phone so I figured i'd share while easy :) Holly turned 2 last Monday, and Mallory is 6.5 weeks old now! Attachments:
