Sleep regressions are brutal. We moved him to his own room at 4 months, took away the paci for sleep, and did Ferber and it was the best decision. He sleeps like a rock now from about 730 PM to 630 AM OMG, that's like mastery level parenting right there... I did the same! He’s 4 and still sleeps 7-7. I had to trash all the pacifiers so a weaker link wouldn’t defy me. But sleep regressions are real, then the teeth. So many fucking teeth.

Excited to join the rest of you! The lady and I are expecting our first this late summer and can’t wait, we’re on the older side for pregnancies so we gotta do all the extra shit but it’s been going well.
Big Chuck arrived on the 28th and minus some low sugars which we got taken care of he's great. I know this ain't shit compared to the long run of things but it's been a blast so far and he's awesome.

My kid just turned 1 last month.
He's my first, so I have no baseline to compare him to, but he's got a shit ton of energy.
I need him to just learn to walk on his own so I can just stop worrying about him hitting his head and just let him walk around the house.

My almost 2 year old kid had an ear infection, so they gave him an anti-biotic, that made him splatter shit diarrhea for almost 10 days during which caused an ungodly rash on his balls and butt cheeks that we now have a prescribed ointment to use on him when he wears a diaper, which is only when he's out of the house because he's so torn up down there that we let him Porky Pig it which then means he's pissing almost everywhere.
Vicious cycle man.

That died quickly but he did change a diaper with PRECISION. Mine just looked like a suggestion.

I'm amazed at the things my six-month-old can do with my phone simply by pawing at the screen.
I've literally seen window configurations I didn't know were possible. (But what's more, entire development teams spent like two months designing modes that no one ever uses or even knows exists.)

How do you cope with your children related to the death of family members?
My wife's cousin died a few weeks ago, my daughter liked her a lot, she would babysit whenever we needed.
It just gives me cold chills whenevery daughter speaks of here. She is only 3 and a half yo. The other day I was reading a story, and at the end she said that is was said cousin that offered here the book, and the she grabbed a doll that was also offered by here.
We haven't told her yet, and don't even know how to, we are afraid of here reaction. But we haven't kept it as a secret either, we know that eventually when she asks by here or says that she wants to give her a call or see her we will need to tell her.
The other day we were watching Vivo on Netflix (animated movie) , and the old guy died during his sleep, it doesn't show the dead body, but you get the picture, the music is sadder, etc. She got sad and asked what happens, my wife told here that he wen't to heaven (she is Catholic), she got the idea more or less what it means. So, still don't know how the reaction will be, or how to say it straight without going into tears.

I'm so sorry to hear, that's a rough situation to be in.
We've never needed to handle it with someone so close to us, but we have talked about pets and extended family members. I think the best thing is to be totally honest and try to resist the make believe puffy clouds and angels, because that really just confuses them in the long term.
If it was me, I would explain that the person is no longer with us, that their body has died, but that they continue living in us and our memories. I'm sure your daughter will be sad, but you can always encourage her to talk to the cousin in her mind, or prayers since you may be raising her Catholic.
Actually, it might be good that she watched Vivo recently -- you can use it as a teaching moment. That even though the man died, he continued living through his music and the way that he impacted those people's lives.
Kids are way more resilient than we give them credit for sometimes.

Got a baby boy coming this May! We had a really bad scare for the last month of extra fluid behind the neck, which can lead to chromosomal disorders, but we just got word from the doctor after some testing that it looks like we are in the clear for a healthy child.

I know this is a very personal question, but my wife just had a miscarriage and we are really having hard time emotionally right now. Has anyone else gone through this? If so, any advice or resources you recommend would be appreciated.

If so, any advice or resources you recommend would be appreciated. I’m so sorry. Even though it happened to us we didn’t really know until after the fact and hadn’t been together long so we weren’t preparing for a baby. Can’t imagine what you both are feeling rn. I will say my partner was really depressed despite the fact it was probably for the best given how young we were. Just be there for her and empathize but also be open about your own feelings. If you think couple’s therapy would help definitely look into it because there are a lot of counselors who specialize in couple’s trauma. Again I’m so sorry and hope you guys can heal and move forward in due time.

I do know that more people recently have been more public about it, and I’m sure that there is a support group local to you. I can’t imagine what you and your wife are feeling.

Me and my wife tried for 4 years, with countless miscarriages before we had our first child. Everyone handles this stuff differently, but the advice I can give you is to be there for your wife cuz the burden of it all is ultimately heavier for her, talk to each other about how your feeling and it will get easier as time goes by. I sincerely hope it works out for you! We don’t know each other but feel free PM me if you wanna talk.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I cant lie, this has been a really hard thing to get through, especially for my wife, but we are going to try again in a few months. I'm already so scared it'll happen again but I guess it's worth the try. I really do appreciate yall being understanding, this has left me a big sense of loneliness.
