This seems like such a pivotal album like the type of stuff that will expose a new generation to punk and hardcore.

Gave it an honest second listen and nahh. Everyone in my feed saying album of the year is high. Turnstile super fans are like trump fans talking about how they can do no wrong. This is their one bad album. Itβs ok to admit it people.

If this werenβt turnstile, this would be shit in so heavily. I definitely understand why people donβt like the album but I donβt think this is true? Much of the positive reception this album has gotten so far has been from people who are (more likely than not) unfamiliar with their first few releases

This is fucking great. Absolutely what I wanted the last LP to sound like.
Not sure if itβs album of the year but itβs definitely top five or ten.

I'm gonna be real honest with ya'll. I was never a huge Turnstile fan. PTS was good but it was pretty generic to me, and Step 2 Rhythm was a little corny for my tastes, maybe trying too hard to be something.
Then I wen't and saw them live shortly after Nonstop Feeling came out and it finally clicked. They are absolutely an era-defining band. Everything they have been putting out is authentic and ambitious. This new one is a straight up instant classic. If you're not down, that's fine, everyone has their own tastes, but you'll be on the wrong side of history.

Itβs ok to not like things other people do without having to make excuses for it No one is making excuses. Giving a reason why you think itβs bad is t an excuse. And yes..throw state champs or some other band name on this and people would think itβs trash or not even listen to it. This album will be forgotten in a year or two

I don't think it's fair to make the point you're trying to. If this was a stand alone record, you're right - it probably wouldn't get the attention it is. But isn't that the whole point of being a band and having a discography that builds and grows over time? Turnstile has done that with each album and this one fits exactly into that. For me, that's part of what makes it great - there are things from the past, things from the present and a lot of what they might want to do in the future.
even if you're not into it, there is no way this album is forgotten in the next ten years. I know you feel offended that other people like this, but this is a horrible take.

Iβm not offended by people liking, itβs just wild to see it viewed as a masterpiece. Even as a turnstile album, itβs not that great. Sure itβs a progression, but it also sounds lazy as hell. Every song is riff riff. Echoed vocals. Riff. Weird Casio keyboard sound and maybe a solo thrown in. If anyoneβs offended, itβs people pissed that others donβt like it or or criticizing it.

Had to go back because I can see what youβre saying about it being called a masterpiece - I do think thatβs a bit silly. I also tend to think that people over exaggerate their apinions of something freshly new - whether good or bad.

Everyone I've seen mad at this album is 30+, doesn't actively listen to new hardcore/go to shows all that often, but still makes their identity being into "underground" music.

Iβve seen that comment by so many people towards those who donβt like it. Arenβt the guys in the band late 20s/ 30+ at this point? People in the age group have listened to far worse/experimental stuff.

I have no idea how old Turnstile dudes are, to be honest, I only started listening to them at NSF and I find this album better so far. I'm also well past 30.
What does "far worse/experimental" have to do with it? The arguments against it (I can understand not liking it but actively trying to shit on it is something else), have been from people who seem to want to make sure everyone knows they listen to "far worse/experimental stuff" and this isn't it.

Might be my second favourite release of the year in the melodic sounding vibes. The Stand Still ep is a masterpiece. I'm so glad this sound is coming back.

Imo it's not reinventing the wheel, it's just a really melodic hardcore album. I'm not a turnstile fan in general, but this and the EP hits.
