There was plenty of sex killers and murderers n shit in the old days but my theory on why mass shootings are a modern thing is just that the weapons to do so were not as widely available as they are now. A quick google says that there was about 50 million guns in the USA in the fifties to now about 400 million.
Now that households have automatic rifles n shit its a lot easier to carry out than when it was just grandads hunting rifle. Suburban dads were not buying very expensive Thompson rifles for their bullied kids to take selfies with like now.

School season seriously just started. Saw reports that apparently there were calls of schools targeted and this was first on the list?
I don't have kids but I know having them involves all types of general day to day worries but sending your kid to school and fearing them being mowed down shouldn't be one of em. Not saying anything new but there isn't anyone coming to save us.
We've decided that easy access to guns like any market is much more preferable than hindering profits. All these morons come out of the woodwork who suddenly understand data sets to argue with you when this pretty much only happens here...

Much more collectivist cultures than ours don't have these kinds of issues. Not all but, as a general rule, they don't. There's working over time to cure the larger social illness involved in why folks do this and there's knowing when to take drastic steps once you read the defense, you know? In other words, I don't get how many more of these need to happen. I was in high school for Columbine, and it was like, "oh wow, this is gonna change everything!" Like... apparently not!
And these suddenly budget conscious or suddenly guns rights advocate turds who continue to hem and haw don't seem to realize that kids are brasher and bolder about this stuff now, and they're only gonna wanna do some "Super Columbine" live on Twitch to beat em all or whatever. It will quite literally only get worse, and I say that as someone with loved ones in these schools. The only reason I want to get older is so these kids can get out of these schools.
