hey so i noticed there is no thread about pinball, so why not create one?
maybe not that popular here, as it is mostly a boomer activity imo?
i've always liked playing pinball and going to arcades and random spots with them, but in the past couple years my interest has increased a bunch.
i think i got sick of playing the same arcade games over and over, and something clicked where i started to actually try and get good at pinball. i'm still not good, but trying.
i aspire to one day own a game or two, and have a couple buds who do collect them, so it could eventually happen.
current faves:
godzilla (an easy pick, but honestly so fun and pretty forgiving)
big lebowski (rare af to see on location. so much fun)
attack from mars (got a friend w/ the remake one, major 90s nostalgia)
total nuclear annihilation (some say it is the "dark souls" of pinball. super unforgiving, with a sick cyberpunk/synthwave theme)
nascar (not even a nascar guy, but i love how the ball launches and goes around the "track")
i'd really like to try the new pulp fiction, and get some more time on the alien game.
what are you playing? where do you play? what are your favourites?

Played the foo fighters at a guitar shop and it was good. T2, Addams Family and Jurassic Park are always good to find in the wild.

all of the boomers I've met through pinball have been pretty cool people....but I also live in da big city and don't really find myself interacting with the pinside-style hard-rocker. that's not to say I haven't met my fair share of punishers
very recently decided to change my initials to YOU KNOW WHAT:
I do think the recent Foo Fighters and Godzilla games knocked it out of the park. I don't want to list my all time favorites, cause that would be a huge list, but give me BSD or virtually any system 11 game and I'm a happy little shit
almost bought a Simpson's Pinball Party a few years back, which I should have gone through with. not sure if I'll be in a position to buy a machine for the foreseeable future

Don't know if this fits but I spent countless nights on this at the barcade in our city before it became a tourist trap

I've only been able to play that once and it rocks. it was at Walt's in LA, which is one of the coolest pinball bars I've been to

i just played a venom LE, was so siqq.
got over 100 mil after a few tries, it was smooth af.
thanks for all the contributions in here, dudes.
i also agree on the foo fighters game being top notch. it hits in a way that the rush game just doesn't.
i'm contemplating getting pinball fx on my pc, but the reviews look so so.
i do have xenotilt, the sequel to demon's tilt, and it is badass. at one point, the stars just aligned and i had a crazy good game and ended up #420 in the world.

We stayed at a big beach house on family vacation a few years back and it had ninja turtles pinball in the basement. Got really into it and getting high scores with each turtle. Always keep my eye open for it now if Iām in an arcade.
When I was a telemarketer I had the office high score on 3D space cadet pinball

I joined the Southern New Hampshire Pinball club last year and its the best decision I've ever made. Its basically a giant locked room in a warehouse with like 20-30 pinball machines, from the 1970's to current machines, and some couches and a TV. You can come in and hang 24/7 and the place is almost always empty except for league night. They charged me $30 once and have never charged me again. Me and my buddies meet up there every couple weeks to get stoned, play pinball and hang out.

that sounds awesome, i wish i had something like that in my neighborhood.
i mostly go to a couple barcades, and a board game shop that has a 30+ table collection.
but you can't really drink or eat there, and it isn't really a great hang (no cell reception).

Whoa this is sick. Unfortunately the closest to me is some boomer bar with a Led Zeppelin machine lol, but a sick brewery a couple towns over has a Munsters one š¤

There was a free pinball game on PS4 where there were classic Stern cabinets as DLC, but I always just played the one that came with the game which was Tales of The Arabian Nights. The physics of the game felt so real.
I've always wanted a South Park machine though. Would also like T2, Shrek, and Austin Powers.

twilight zone is so fuckin sick, and is definitely on the "if i won the lotto" list.
i'm trying to put together a pinball road trip through ohio to pittsburgh. hopefully will do that in the spring of 2024.
maybe not the most exciting locales, but some amazing pinball arcades.

TZ really is the GOAT. Itās one of those games that, for me at least, once you āget itā youāre all in on pinball. LITZ is such a good feeling.
Pittsburgh is a great town for pinball. Iāve never played at any of the bars there, but I wen't to PAPA 20, the last year that they had the warehouse. Hands down the craziest collection of machines Iāve seen. Off the top of my head, the only collection that comes close to that might be the museum in Vegas. Honorary mention of Silverball in NJ and Flippers in NCā¦.but they do not compare.
Funny thingā¦.when I was getting into pinball, Iād see videos of the PAPA warehouse and think āthatās cool but no way Iām going out there to hang out with a bunch of nerdsā. One year later and Iām driving six hours from NJ to PA in a torrential downpour by myself.
Fuck. Pinball threadās got me posting like chalie

Took my kids to a pinball arcade the just opened up, and it was such a great cheap way to burn a couple hours on a rainy spring break.
They had a huge range of years and variety. They had the Terminator 2 with the gun, and the 90s Addams family. Old stuff with rolling score displays. Itās funny that I havenāt played in years and mustāve tried a dozen new machines ā Godzilla was a huge standout.
I donāt know enough about pinball to articulate why Godzilla was so much better than the others. Is it that itās easier to play, or just more engaging to keep the ball in play?
