I like the new wave sound, but a lot of it bleeds together and sounds too similar for me. That said, I’ve never listened to a full album of it all in one sitting before. Music for the Masses was good, but not something I’ll go back to for another listen of front to back.
I started a playlist of my “greatest hits” from each days album. Gonna try to limit it to 2 or maybe 3 songs from each album. Hopefully there’s at least 1 track added each day.

When does the new album show up usually? I started a little after midnight EST last night. Still can’t review first album
Site says:
Once every weekday (between 3-5 AM GMT) you will get a new album generated. You will then be able to rate your previous album
So after 10pm tonight??

I got an Arethra Franklin album yesterday and found a few songs that I genuinely loved. Today I got Talking Heads thinking it would be an easy win for me but I was actually a little disappointed with it. It wasn't a bad album by any means but the songs I loved the most were just the singles I already knew.

Ray Charles - The Genius of Ray Charles. Reminds me of my old man. Definitely a good album for listening to this morning with my coffee. This will probably make it into rotation when I need something softer for mornings or evenings.

Pulled Willie Nelson Stardust today. I'm definitely a country hater, but have a lot of respect for Willie. Read up on it though and found it's his "pop" album so I'm thinking I probably will hate it. Trying to go in without judgement

Unless I get Garth Brooks “friends in low places” single 7”, I am dreading the day my first country album comes up.

Holy shit, this Willie Nelson LP isn't bad! It's all old classic covers and not much country at all. It's produced by Booker T who also handles organ duties and his influence is very clear on this. I fucking LOVE Booker T and the MGs

That Stardust album is very nice, I remember listening to it a lot back in the day. I need to revisit it.

Finishing up day 5 -- today is the first day I actually got an album I was way into when I was 12 or 13 (Franz Ferdinand s/t). I don't know if it still holds up as so many of those 2000s indie dance punk bands feel dated now (and not as exciting to me once I discovered the bands that influenced them like Wire, Orange Juice, Pere Ubu...) but still a huge paving road for me getting into punk music. A lot of this shit was called "landfill indie" at the time and while this isn't generic enough to fit the bill I could name like 20 bands from this era that were better lol
This album was apparently a big influence on Kanye's Late Registration though so I can't say it doesn't belong
Day 1 - Elvis Presley (s/t) 3/5 Day 2 - AC/DC (Back In Black) 1/5 Day 3 - Big Brother & The Holding Company (Cheap Thrills) 4/5 Day 4 - The Offspring (Smash) 2/5 Day 5 - Franz Ferdinand (s/t) 3/5
Hoping to get some deeper cuts soon

Simon & Garfunkel- Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme.
I think I’m going to give this one a couple more listens. Not typically my thing, but it definitely feels much deeper than the surface listen I gave it this morning. I’m not really a folk rock guy, but there’s a lot of interesting stuff in here.

The Cure- Seventeen Seconds
Not overly familiar with their catalogue, so this is cool.

not super memorable outside of the title track and a beegees cover but it was enjoyable enough

The Cure- Seventeen Seconds Not overly familiar with their catalogue, so this is cool. I love the Cure and I love that album but I am surprised that particular album would make the list. They have a lot of other albums that are much more definitive imo (and some of them will probably pop up later on the list I am sure)

Remain in Light is kind of strange, it takes a weird dark turn toward the end. I mean I guess it's kind of dark overall but that last song is pretty grim
