stevedave is your name SteveDave like the guy in Mallrats saying 'Tell Em Steve Dave'? It is. Wish it wasn’t because I got sick of Kevin Smiths bullshit years ago but didn’t wanna change it when I came over from Old Testament.

I remember in the Mallrats dvd commentary Ben Affleck wigging out during one moment saying something to the effect of "I read the script and I was like 'Who the fuck is Steve Dave?? Who the fuck is Walt Flannigan??' I knew I had to do the movie because of these name specifics and then these guys showed up to the set who were the actual Walt and Steve and I lost my mind"

the second track, Rip This Joint, is such a great fucking song. And pretty fucking fast for the time for that kind of loose boogie woogie shit that I usually hate. I would love to have seen some sloppy band like The Replacements in their prime cover that song.

It smokes (no pun intended), and I always thought it was cover of an old blues tune but it appears it's theirs!

I need to pay respect to this review someone left for Napalm Death- Scum.
“ Brings back vivid memories of when me and my mate Ray wen't on a trip to Dresden. We met this rotund goth in a bar, head to toe with tattoos and piercings, real filth and after a while took her into the disabled bogs for a spit roast. We were both pumping away in her with Napalm Death on in the background and her wailing "MEIN GOTT" at the top of her lungs. I remember spaffing all over her back just as Siege of Power kicked in. As i shoot over her, she takes Ray's cock out of her gob and says "do you want fries with that?" in a faux American accent. Anyway, we go outside and there's this gammy little geezer in a wheelchair sitting there furious, giving me daggers, because he's had to wait so long, so I lean into him and I go "I hope you have as much fun in there as we just did you little cunt".
3/5”

The Cure- Seventeen Seconds Not overly familiar with their catalogue, so this is cool. I love the Cure and I love that album but I am surprised that particular album would make the list. They have a lot of other albums that are much more definitive imo (and some of them will probably pop up later on the list I am sure) Yeah, it didn't really do anything for me. My favorite songs were the last two because they were different from the rest of the album and stood out, otherwise it was really forgettable.

Also, if you haven't read Peter Hook's books on Joy Division and New Order, they are must reads. Dude is a fantastic story teller and the amount of detail he goes into each albums recording process, live set up and equipment is incredible.

After reading the posts in this thread, and going on the wiki for the 1001 albums book, I realized that at least half of the recommendations are going to be shit that I couldn't care less about

Got Led Zeppelin today. Honestly not looking forward to it. I’ve heard their singles enough to never want to hear another ripped off blues riff ever again.
