the place we bought had brand new granite countertops when we moved in, I don't like them because they're black and make our already small kitchen feel even smaller. I can't bring myself to tear them out though.
in other news, I'm trapped in some weird prank war with this crazy old bastard in my neighborhood which is fun.

Don’t know if you have an ikea near by or would want to use them but they run 15% sales on quartz countertops fairly often.

PHXAZ market is insane. Old house is currently under contract for 200k more than it was purchased for six years ago. Bought a place in Utah for damn near the same price as the sale price on the old. With more house and more yard. Going from big city to little town has been amazing for the mental health of our household, including the dog. She loves the yard, having grass is a huge deal for her. She just wants to sunbathe and do hoodrat shit with her friends. Once the old house closes, time for new appliances and countertops. I want the cabinets refinished but not sure how the budget will play out after we build a big shop at back.

Had consultation with my cities “Heritage Home Program” for low interest loans on 50+ year old houses.
Gonna get butt fucked by plumbers. Upstairs bathroom completely unusable and the “stack” is compromised. Don’t want house flooding with waste so gonna have to get that replaced.

Sink base with sink included, small piece next to the stove, a coffee nook and a 4x8 piece for the island ran us 2700 installed. |

I'm out of town and my gf just told me my neighbor asked her if we "plan to do anything about that" about the weeds and stuff growing next to the sidewalks in front of my house.
Same neighbor whose trees hang over my yard and dump all their leaves onto my side of the fence.

I recently received an anonymous note from a neighbor suggesting I reinforce my fence that runs alongside the road because my dog barks whenever they walk by with theirs. The fear is that mine will “devour” them, as they put it.
Mind you I have a vinyl fence and then a livestock fence for the part that runs through the woods.
I want to know if they left every other house a note as well that has barking dogs in the area. Pissed me off for sure.

My mower broke for a while when I first moved in (got it from a friend) and was trying to fix it/live life and after maybe 3 weeks a neighbor across the street came and mowed it while I wasn’t home. I felt like a bum but she’s been very nice still. Thankfully (not really) my next door neighbors much worse unkempt yard deflects from my own but his junk trees all bend over my yard and I have to trim them. I mostly toss the brush back into his yard.

Had a neighbor leave a note asking to text them before I mow so they can move their cars, nbd. Now I text them a half hour before I start mowing, start in the back to give them more time, and then they respond “thanks for letting us know” about two hours after I’ve already finished.

the best was my house was a short sale so the bank had someone cutting the grass while it was on the market and they kept cutting the grass for like another 2 months after the sale was done lol

Put the finishing pieces of backsplash tile down for the first time in my life. Letting it set for a while before I do the grout. I got lucky and picked up a wet saw on fb for $10 and the project became much more enjoyable once I mastered the blade.
