i only have my tele now which has a cool fat sounding pickup in it but it’s still distinctly single coil sounding. i need a humbucker guitar but i hate almost everything. what’s easy to find for like 300 bucks, plays easy, and does tha trick for heavy music? ill probably just swap out tha bridge humby for a jb. used to be able to find used agile lps for like 200 bucks but i don’t see shit at tha moment. those are ok even though im not much of a gibby guy. How do you feel about Ibanez? You can usually get a used RG for a pretty decent price and unless you don't like the scale size I think they fit the easy playing bill. Slim fast necks and relatively light.

people just think they're worth a lot more than they are. wouldn't pay more than $100 for one and from what i gather, $140 is the lowest i've found one.

It's not that people think they're worth more than they are, it's that everybody wants one all of a sudden. I sold mine years ago when nobody wanted the fucking things for like 50 bucks, imagine how stupid I feel now that they're going for 150+ on EBay.

Also you can get a very similar HM-2 tone from a DS-1 thats much more manageable if you dime it. HM-2s are a pain in tha dick to get toned in, especially on high gain amps. And tha tone is so limited IMO.

i've had one before and figured out how to manage with my set-up (vol low & high dimed with dist on 0).
i might just get the behringer copy that's supposedly pretty good just to buzzsaw it up when i feel it.

No the low end GIO series are mostly junkers, not terrible but they're pretty hit or miss. I love the standard RG series but yeah they are hard to find in a hardtail version so if you hate trems than I guess Ibanez wasn't a great suggestion. On that cheaper end I really tend to like Epiphones but if you're not a Gibson guy you probably won't find much interesting. Jackson maybe? I feel like their low end is pretty hit or miss but I've played some nice ones that were under 400.

They're $350 new I believe but I got mine $200 used because some moron put a sticker on the back of it.

Get yourself a Washburn WI-** series from the early 2000s. They are dirt cheap for how good they are.

there are only a couple used on reverb in that 300 range, but in tha mid-2000s Schecter had some incredible guitars for tha price..I had a Tempest and a C1 Standard.

What's on everybody's board?
Here's my bass board. Od > hm2 clone > meatbox > bass driver. Might add a delay, idk

My board is really just a DS1 and a tuner right now. Sold all my other pedals off a while ago to pay some bills and I haven't started/felt like buying any more recently.

what kind of music chief? I've only ever been in hardcore or noise bands. Always been interested in trying something else but I'm not especially talented at any particular instrument, I can just play everything decently enough.

Really into my current set-up:
Ibanez RG6003FM --> Peavey VTM 60 w/ Mesa 2x12 --> 80's MIJ Boss GE-7 --> Analogman modded Boss SD-1 --> Boss TU-2
Trying my best to achieve the South of Heaven tone on a budget.

That setup sounds dope. I'm itching to get some new stuff but I'm dead broke right now. Thread gives me inspiration however.
