Just bought a Greco Dan Armstrong copy on reverb, it's wood not lucite. Through some confusion between USD vs CAD I ended up getting it for 350 shipped. Real excited to plug it in and fuckin rip once it arrives

I always wrote super riffy shit in E flat (definitely had an "homage" to Behind the Crooked Cross from Slayer in a Cut Short interlude) but wen't to D standard permanently around 2010 and haven't really looked back. There have been a few times I've fucked with C/C# (maybe the time I jammed with you, Kwame?) but it never sticks for more than a week.

it may have been Bill. I'm pretty sure that was Mark's doing though. I've played in E flat nearly my entire time playing guitar, thanks to Weezer

I'm usually playing in standard but recently since I got my nylon string have been trying all sorts of tunings. Dadgad, open D, Eadgce, Ebf#gde, F#af#gad, and my recent favorite D#a#dga#d

I stay in standard for the most part. I have a squire 51 with 13s on it thats tuned down to C, but I don't really dick around with it that much.

I was in a band that tuned up half a step before. probably my favorite band that i played an instrument in even though it dissolved way too fast

im currently playing in four fledgling bands hopefully one actually turns out to be decent. but 4x weekly practices is goddamn killing me. especially cause none of them want to do weekends.

I'm in upstate NY if you need yet another guitar player. There should be a Drum Gear thread to poach people from.

I've been working on the same record for at least 12 years now. Anytime I make progress, I listen back, decide I hate it, and start over.
I finally have a good writing partner that gets what I'm doing and is keeping me out of my way. So, I hope I'll have it done within the year.
But for gear, I've slimmed down quite a bit. I never really plan on playing a show again, so I'm just running a combo amp. I have an old Peavey Bandit that I modded a bit that oozes tone.
For guitars I have a 80's jap Jackson V with EMGs, and my old ESP SG with Duncan's. She's a bit fucked from having been on the road forever, so it's a case queen now
On the record I'm working on, we have one guitar in D standard, and one in drop D. Adds an odd bit of dissonance that I can't quite describe. You can just kind of feel something is wrong. Keeps you on edge.

They take so much pride in their work. I find the Korean PRS's to be superior to the American made ones

Yeah, you kinda have to go out of your way to find a shitty guitar these days. The new Squires are excellent. And I have a Rogue acoustic I paid $30 for I'd put against anything in the $300 range. Shit, I've even played a couple First Acts that were legit guitars by any standards
