The Dead Don't Die opened up Cannes, reviews are calling it a fun, but minor effort from Jarmusch

I see your Primal Fear and raise you a Congo Help me out guys, I remember watching Punch-Drunk Love and rolling on the floor at this: Well, I just rewatched on Netflix and it appears this scene was cut out. Are there two cuts of the film? Did I have a mini stroke and just miss it??

I can fully verify that that is not in the movie, as I watched it on VHS a couple weeks ago

This is getting some good buzz after screening at Cannes. This looks sick. It's only a 1 min teaser.

Just re-watched White God since seeing it in theaters. Such an incredible movie that played with my emotions. If you claim to love dogs and don't love this movie, you are a fucking fraud.

Also, punch drunk love is an all timer for me When Barry wrecks those backwoods turds after Lena gets hurt from the fender bender, what a great fucking scene. To see him focus that rage and use it to protect someone he truly cares about is just plain beautiful.

I saw this in theater when it came out with my friends and we all basically thought like ok...Adam Sandler just killed it, I hope he does more dramatic roles. But in a way it’s awesome that he just kept on doing his thing after this movie and it stands alone to show dude is legit talented no matter what ppl think of him

Dude IS better than 99% of what he chooses to work on BUT I do feel like the lion’s share of the credit for PDL goes to PT Anderson's direction and the casting director.

He's great with PTA, Noah Baumbach, and apparently he's in the next Safdie brothers film... I even think Billy Madison holds up as an absurdist comedy (obviously nostalgia plays a role there).
But I've read that his typical move is to just ask studios for the least amount of money to where they don't give a shit, and then he takes all his friends on vacation to make a movie and he makes out with Drew Barrymore or some shit. Dude has it all figured out. I can't hate, but I can happily avoid his films.

Just watched Southern Comfort (1981). Directed by Walter Hill who directed some classics in the '70s like Hard Times with Charles Bronson, The Warriors, and The Driver with Ryan O'Neal and Bruce Dern. Southern Comfort feels like a '70s movie as well, with some staples of that era like Keith Carradine, Powers Boothe and Fred Ward. It's about a team of National Guards who are on a military exercise in the deep south and are hunted down by a group of angry hillbillies when they fuck with one of the locals. They slowly start to go insane or killed off as they search for the highway out. It's kinda like Deer Hunter meets Deliverance. Great stuff. It's on Prime.
