Iβm so glad theyβre putting Grave of the Fireflies on Netflix next month. Iβve been trying to show it to my gf for years. Easily my favorite Ghibli movie

Has Robert Rodriguez released anything worth watching after Attila? I picked up Roadracers on dvd and forgot how much his run in the 90's rocked. I really liked Attila, but the trailers for his projects since then have looked so bad that I never bothered with them.

Prometheus had some interesting ideas and beautiful shots, but completely fell apart into nonsense and the cut Ridley put out removes so much shit that would have saved it a bit IMO. Does anyone have a link to that 35mm scan of Aliens that made its way online earlier this year? Cameron has been butchering his movies with all this AI βremasteringβ and the new (even on the old bluray) color grading has never sat right with me. Ordinary People- pretty devastating. Its my understanding people have given this one a hard time over the years for winning the Oscar over Raging Bull but its pretty great
(rewatch) John Carpenter's Vampires- pretty scuzzy. Possibly scuzzier than I remembered. I also misremembered the v.ampire (fuckin sentence spice) slayer crew being in more of the movie. We dont need Daniel Baldwin but there's few people I can imagine these scumbag lines coming out of than him and James Woods

Iβve tried to watch three John Adams movies and havenβt gotten more than 30 mins through any of them. Theyβre pretty well received and I really want to like them but I canβt. The Deeper You Dig, Hellbender, and just now Hellhole. The cinematography and color grading, editing, and performances just arenβt there. I know theyβre working with budget constraints, but his movies are just ugly to look at. Lots of low budget movies look goodβ¦is it the equipment he/his team uses? I just feel bad that I turn them off.

While Iβm probably not gonna watch it either way, itβs pretty annoying that the Smile 2 trailer ends with Kyle Gallnerβs death. Obviously thatβll be the first scene and itβs the conventional, boring choice to kill off the surviving character in the sequel, but you donβt have to show it in the trailer. The first one was okay-ish, and he was the best part of it. Kevin Baconβs daughters weight was distracting. She looked in desperate need of any amount of food.
