It was about as good as it probably could have been, all things considered. Yeah there's too much going on but that made it pace better than what I'm sure what the alternative: long useless dialogue scenes between rey and finn bonding about being orphans or whatever garbage. I don't take much stock in what I have heard used to defend the phantom menace.

That is kinda different. This trilogy was a clash of directors.
I wasn't a big fan of Force Awakens but I though Abrams did a decent job. I loved the direction Johnson took the franchise, but for Abrams to not only expand on that but to bring it back to what he hoped to achieve deserves kudos.

The new movies could have used waaaaay more questionable alien designs based on negative stereotypes of minorities. Yoda is clearly an old wise Jew
is Yoda in the film

Mandalorian Any chance we may see a young Rey or rey's parents in the finale?

Just saw it, thought it was great. I really liked the ending and I feel like it almost retroactively makes TLJ a little bit better based on the direction it forced this movie to go in. My biggest gripe was that they shoehorned that Leia was training Rey, and Luke has originally trained Leia, Leia has a lightsaber, etc. but I can live with it. I like that TLJ essentially set up the arc of Ben Soloβs redemption, because i thought it was a good way to end this. TLJ is still underwhelming as hell but I really enjoyed that setup for the finale. If RJ just did Empire 2.0 (following JJβs lead on TFA) then Iβm not sure we wouldβve gotten nearly as good of a final chapter as we just did. I also thought it was cool they gave Rey a yellow lightsaber in the end, and it even looked like a double-bladed one, which I always thought would make more sense for her to wield due to her skills with her staff. I was really into TFA when it came out and TLJ killed a lot of my Star Wars hype, so I was skeptical going into this. Upon my rewatch of TFA the other day I still really enjoyed it but I recognized that itβs mostly just nostalgia for what is more or less A New Hope 2.0. Iβd say Rise of skywalker is the strongest film in the new trilogy. Leading up to this I watched all the movies in order so Iβll give my ranking for them all. 1. Empire Strikes Back 2. Return of the Jedi 3. A New Hope 4. Rise of Skywalker 5. The Force Awakens 6. Revenge of the Sith 7. The Phantom Menace 8. The Last Jedi 9. Attack of the Clones Empire and Jedi are interchangeable for me, Jedi is really fun but it suffers from a long middle part with the Ewoks and Jedi Rocks. Without those itβd be close to perfect in my eyes

ESB ANH TLJ TFA ROTJ
-GAP-
TPM ROTS ROS AOTC
I saw ROTJ the other day, and I never noticed until my brother pointed it out, but the camera work on it is really stiff and not dynamic at all except for when Luke bludgens Vader.

Really cause my favorite part of jedi is the filming during lukes scenes on the death star.I feel like it gives a lot of weight to the scenes and some really great establishing shots.

Iβm not expecting to be watching citizen fuckin Kane when I go see Star Wars. The original trilogy of course is untouchable, but god damn thereβs some STUPID shit in those movies. Look at Jedi Rocks. The only ones that are lost are the grown adults that are legitimately bent out of shape about a movie with space wizards and 8 foot tall dog-people

First of all I have no idea what a jedi rock is.Second I love return its not a perfect movie but I would consider the confrontation with luke, vader, and the emperor high art.Its shot really well its emotional and is a great ark for luke and vader due too his redemption. Yes the Ewoks are stupid but 20 years later I still remember Ewoks more than jet pack troopers which already existed due to dark troopers. Its like Indiana Jones its not really meant for kids but can still appeal to them.

I didn't hate it. It was a bit rushed but I feel like it worked out in the end. I had zero expectations when it started getting shitty reviews, that may have helped it tbh.

Itβs the song and dance number at the beginning of ROTJ featuring 1997 CGI monstrosities So a re edit 30 years later after the original and is around the time of the phantom menace doesn't really count.Because the prequels were specifically or seemed more intended for kids than the original trilogy and that was never the original intention its just adults don't buy as many toys so at that time (1997-2011) that was his focus and George never really considers a film to be finished which explains the unnecessary reedits .Also some of this is still a little too violent and sexual for kids. But let this video serve as why this isn't exactly for kids. I mean shit he did make American Graffitti and THX the 2 best examples of child friendly films that I can find. I mean if a roger corman style space saga sounds like a childhood romp then your fucked in the head.

Thought it wasn't bad, liked it more than TLJ although it did feel like I was watching a worse version of Endgame in the end especially when lando and all the ships showed up

Hux being the mole in the weakest heel-turn. Like there's no way I believe the man who ANNIHILATED at least 3 worlds would ever help the Rebels.
