So uhhh anyone watch Andor yet? First 3 episodes dropped today. I have a strong feeling I’m gonna enjoy it more than Obi Wan. I’m still reeling from how much I disliked that show.

Good thing that they released the first three episodes at once because I think that they were needed together to really grab you. Would have been a bit too slow otherwise. But yeah, acting is great, music is good and the dialogue is well written so far. I wish the last two shows had half of the effort put into them that this one seems to have had.

Definitely good so far. It looks just like Rogue One. I don't know what it was about Obi Wan but it was just shot so weird, almost like shaky cam or something.

This show fucking rules. I need the characters in a Star Wars show to recognize they are in Star Wars and believe that they are in that universe. Beard boyfriend (may he rip) did not feel like Star Wars. This little crew of folks feels like Star Wars to me. I love seeing the beauracracy side of the Empire. That this labyrinthine tangle of departments and jurisdictions and logistics and co-opting corporate lackeys is a front to the Sith and this ancient battle between good and evil. It really feels like you could have total buy in from the rank and file. The banality of evil, as it were.

Solo is a fun movie. I wen't to see it half-drunk so I could hate watch it and that didn't happen. I think it has charm and it easily sits in the better half of things Disney has put out so far.

Watched the first 3 Andor eps back when they premiered and am just now watching ep 4. There's a scene where some folks are standing around holding AK-47s, which I laughed at. Then just for shits I googled "Andor AK47" and apparently that caused a huge uproar amongst Star Wars fans, which made it like 10x funnier.

The costume, set design and overall look & feel of Andor is just incredible. Perfect. And we have an actual story and solid acting to boot. Why weren’t they doing this level of filmmaking from the start?? Ya done goofed big for years Disney !

I noticed this too but only thought it made an unspoken nod to the differences of the haves and have-nots. Is it really far fetched to believe that guerrilla fighters living outside the influence of the current government would utilize ancient weapons out or desperation?

The prop Boba Fett uses in the films is a modified Webley & scoot № 1 Mark "I" Flare Gun, built for use by British troops during WWI. It's like their "thing" to do this. There's many, many others.

I mean, no, it's not even as far fetched as space samurai wizards who can move shit with their minds and fight with laser swords or, like, anything else in the entire canon, really.  I guess I just A) since it's Star Wars I sorta expected more effort out of the props department to at least dress them up a little bit, make them a little less obvious, and B) immediately thought "oh man, there's a swath of the fans who are gonna be pissed at this" (and was correct) regarding said obviousness.  And I thought both of those things were pretty funny, the latter way more than the former.

i think it's classic corporate oversight. the more money involved, the more the product gets second-guessed and control is taken away from the "creatives" (hate that term).
