Give me Mandalorian now. I’m ready. I’m honestly 100% way not that interested in Ep IX. Am I the only one?? Last Jedi derailed the story, I’m out The Last Jedi was some BULLSHIT also, while we’re talking about IX, you guys know they’ve filmed like 6 different endings and testing them so they can pick the "perfect one" by release date. It’s also reportedly still filming. What a bunch of losers.

I haven't seen it since the theaters but I personally loved the Force Awakens at the time. Actually gave me the Star Wars feelings that I love. Didn't get that from the Last Jedi at all or Solo but Rogue One was cool. It's a lifeless film franchise that I'll give my money to for years to come...

Anybody ever wonder what it would be like to time travel like, 30 years and then sit down and watch every Star Wars related flick that's come out over the time span?

I really liked the force awakens and the last jedi would've been great if it weren't for the whole fuckin kanto byte part. I'm excited for ep 9, but definitely not as hyped as I was going itno episodes 7 & 8. I just hope we don't have too much screen time devoted to those new little Jedi slave kids that were at the end of the last jedi. That subplot seems very shoehorned in and I couldn't give a fuck about them.

I liked The Force Awakens because it wasn’t bad. The Last Jedi wasn’t either, just not good. It ran on the legacy of the characters, and nothing else. The Oscar Isaac and Laura Dern interaction was a waste of time, and the twist of her not being shitty was shitty in itself. I grew up worshiping the first trilogy. It had a magic that was commodified by Return of the Jedi, and forced in The Force Awakens. I’ll watch the new one since it’ll be put to rest but I have no interest in any of the other movies. Not fully related, but I wish Lucas had the balls to do what he wanted with the second trilogy. I heard they wanted Jar Jar to be like The Mule character in Asimov’s Foundation series, which would have made it way more interesting.

Bumping this because it's Star Wars season.
The Mandalorian is amazing. Better than I expected. I dont even care about the movies being good or bad anymore, I got what I need from the Star Wars universe.
With that said, Ive been reading and watching videos of videos for Rise of Skywalker. From what I'm hearing, it's going to make The last Jedi look great (And I didnt even mind TLJ). But like I said, I couldn't care less at this point.

The new X-wing color scheme in the new movie is garbage.

I’m going with my family to see ROS the week of Christmas cause I’ve seen the last 3 with them and it’s become a bit of a holiday tradition. That said, my expectations will be low but I’m sure it’ll be fun enough with the fam and being stoned as shit as i probably will be, I can only hope it’ll be at least visually pleasing.

I'm digging this as a Lone Wolf and Cub ala Star Wars, but some seriously questionable narrative moves happened in the back-end of ep 3 that have me concerned...
ON THE PLUS SIDE Herzog and his goons were fabulous; love how shitty the 'troopers look

The Mandalorian is great. Watched the Phantom Menace with my fiancé last night with the intention of watching all 8 movies leading up to ROS, but I doubt well make it that far before giving up. Phantom Menace is okay, but god damn the reliance on cgi in these prequels is annoying to look at. Also Watto is clearly a jewish stereotype.

The prequels are so hard to watch. And they all blend together in my mind. Like, I know Anakin is a kid in the first, a teenager in the second and an adult in the third. After that, everything besides Liam Neeson dying in the first just blends together.
Remember how hard they pushed Darth Maul when promoting the first prequel and he like... appears on screen four times then dies? What the fuck was that all about?

I think Episode 3 is pretty decent, but otherwise I agree. When I got laid off a few months ago I bought myself all the Star Wars movies (I don't know why that was a smart move in my brain, but hey) and have been rewatching them all while applying for jobs and dicking around. I can rewatch 4-8 pretty much endlessly (I know people are pretty upset about the sequel trilogy, but I find them entertaining) but the prequel trilogy is something I kinda suffer through. I watched One once and doubt I'll rewatch it anytime soon.

Maul was cool but beyond his light saber and awesome look his character was a complete throwaway.

I gave ep 3 a watch before rogue one came out and thought I remember it being ok when it came out. Was real rough and after like 30 minutes we just turned it off and found something better to do.

After TLJ I saw a lot of revisionist history takes that the prequels were somehow better. Those movies are fucking horrendous. MacGregor being the lone bright spot.

The prequels are no doubt terrible. People can complain about TLJ, and they may have some points. But its nowhere as near as bad as the "best" prequel.

I honestly don't even know what happens in the prequels. I understand there's some sort of double-cross with Palpatine, Anakin turns to the dark side, kills younglings, blah blah blah... but I mean, is there any justification for those movies to be as long as they are besides "it's Star Wars"?

The prequels are just filled with boring dialogue about politics that still can’t hold my attention as an adult nevermind the fact that I couldn’t follow it as a child. Darth Maul suffered the same fate as boba fett where everyone loves him because he looks cool and he does badass flips, but he really doesn’t even do shit in the movies. Of course as mentioned, Darth maul was prominent in the marketing so it’s not quite the same thing. But the dude got killed by a padawan like a fuckin nerd.

I just remember seeing attack of the clones in the theater when I was 8 and not being thrilled coming out of that one. To me, and I think many others, that’s the real stinker of the franchise. The entire middle part with anakin and padme’s “romance” is sooooooo boring and Hayden Christensen was soooooooo bad, but to be fair I’m not sure if it’s cuz he’s a bad actor, the dialogue is poorly written, there was bad direction, or more likely a combination of the 3. The only saving grace for the prequels is that they spawned the original Battlefront games, which are fucking flawless. Just found out battlefront 2 is ten bucks on steam so catch me buying that later.
