taking the month to catch up on horror movies i've never seen, shooting for one a day and doubling up as needed to keep pace yesterday was slumber party massacre i and ii and those were both tremendous, ii moreso obviously because the driller killer as a rockabilly dweeb was pretty fuckin' sick. i loved the first because it was a fun low-budget romp where clearly the female director had to make creative decisions around roger corman's thirst for boob. great kills in ii, love that they added the detail of gore clinging to the drill bit when he murked people, love crystal bernard since wings, the rapport of the gals in the band was a lot of fun got the remake on deck today and then gonna follow it with prom night 2 per a good friend's suggestion after he heard i was blowing through the slumber party movies The remake was more of a sequel IMO but I enjoyed it.

Watched In The Mouth of Madness last night and it was a good trip of Lovecraftian proportions. Concealer hit me up to put on Prince of Darkness as a double feature so I'll do that tonight

Finished Night of the Demons for the first time last night and it was fantastic. Clearly 80s shlock, but some real spurts of talent that pop up periodically. Some of those people were acting their asses off, and the make up effects were great. Add to that a makeshift flamethrower and burn suits... chef's kiss.
Next up is Eyes Without a Face, and probably pulling up Barbarian over the weekend.

Started the new Mike Flannagan show The Fall of the House of Usher last night. I'm a big Poe guy, so I'm curious to see where it goes. I think Midnight Mass will forever be his masterpiece, but I look forward to digging deeper into the new show.

Watched Eyes Without a Face foe the first time last year and enjoyed it. The score is a trip - the Curb Your Enthusiasm score sounds like it ripped it off. Not identical, but it definitely threw me haha.

There are more good Friday the 13ths than bad ones. Did a Jason Takes Manhattan rewatch last night and although the beginning is a slog I still enjoy it despite its flaws. I really just think Part 5 and Goes to Hell are bad bad.

Manhattan was always my favorite as a kid. I liked it being away from a a summer camp or the woods for a change

I really just think Part 5 and Goes to Hell are bad bad. Part 5 is still worth a watch because it's a sleazy exploitation film produced by Paramount and directed by a guy who made pornos.

Put on I Saw The Devil. Been a few years. Man, that movie rocks. Thank you for reminding me about that one! I donβt normally like the cat and mouse genre but remember thinking it was quite good.
