I had a bit of a deep dive last year on F13,except X and newer.
That said, 2-4 were the stand outs to me. 5 was my first slasher movie as a kid, so I always enjoy it at least a little. Manhattan is great for laughs.

Manhattan is great for laughs. I think six is a stand out because it's like they actually tried to make a good movie and not just an excuse for boobs and gore. Which it still is don't get me wrong.

F13 is the best horror franchise. I actually believe this
Nightmare On Elm Street is my favorite, Friday the 13th have more than a good chapter. 1 and 2 are horror classics, also the 7th is good.

watched trick r treat for the first time the other day as i work through horror i’ve never seen. loved it I absolutely love that Sam has become sorta the official mascot for Halloween. My love for this flick and Sam is unending. Finally got a Kanopy login so tonight I will take in the Korean horror classic A Tale of Two Sisters

trick r treat rocks. i wish more anthology horror were solid throughout. a handful of the early v/h/s segments were good, but the majority of those movies were not. i havent seen tale of two sisters in a very long time, but i own two copies of it, both in blockbuster cases
what do you guys think about halloween III? its the only installment in the franchise i think i enjoy

And im saying this without having even seen Viral which seems to be the agreed-upon shittiest one. But these last two had more duds than good segments.

Watched the second one last year. The cult one is the only one that sticks in my mind. Found footage is a bit whack though, don't find it particularly engrossing

The first VHS is pretty good but the sequels have been mediocre to unwatchable

Anthologies are tricky. VHS is better than majority of the crap out there. I liked more than I disliked to be honest but like I said most are trash.
Creep Show, Tales From The Hood and Trick R Treat are the best.

VHS rules. I do not like the cult segment in the second one at all. Always thought it was super overrated. Still haven't seen the newest, but LOVED '99.

Currently watching VHS 85. I actually like how it looks like it was taped over a documentary of some sort.

New Exorcist is going to digital on the 24th already. Oof. Apparently Universal is scrambling to do damage control to see what they can do with the next two sequels.

At this point I just approach the VHS series as a goofy fun watch. I don’t think they’re trying to make anything genuinely frightening at this point. It’s just something to throw on, crack some beers, and have a laugh

Missed a lot of conversations in here 1. I haven’t seen scream 5 or 6 but plan on doing so soon.
2. I like F13 and F13 pt 2. I don’t like any others much except maybe VIII and Freddy v Jason. I don’t like Kane Hodder’s Jason (but I like him in Hatchet)
3. Child’s Play is the best and most consistent horror franchise
4. I like the first couple VHS movies but the rest have been largely forgettable. I’d like to check out the latest thought.
I’m watching Grave Encounters rn. I haven’t seen it in over 10 years but I remember liking it a lot

Put on I Saw The Devil. Been a few years. Man, that movie rocks. Thank you for reminding me about that one! I don’t normally like the cat and mouse genre but remember thinking it was quite good. The Achilles scene man… LMAO. Forgot all about it. I literally wen't from couch to floor, rolling, laughing yes, but also just completely awful, wincing imagined pain. It’s a tough watch, no doubt. But it’s a good one about the pitfalls of hubris whether you’re good or bad. Wild movie.

oh i tapped out of i saw the devil at the stairwell scene and the lady with the whip blades, was not in the head space for it that day. it was grueling and unpleasant despite my action/gore brain going "god that's so aggressively brutal that i am shocked/impressed"
iko uwais hadn't even really been unleashed yet. one day i will finish it.

I don’t think this is I Saw The Devil. I feel like I can envision what it is you’re talking about, but it’s not ISTD unless I’ve always seen a different cut.
