Dawn of the Dead remake pissed me off as a kid. Why tf would you leave a fully stocked mall to sail to an island that may or may not exist? It makes no sense. They explicitly say they don't want to wait and die there. Eventually supplies will run out and to keep moving is a way to keep that inevitably at bay.

The Stepfather was awesome. Pretty cookie cutter but executed well.
Terry O'Quinn is so damn good in it. That line "Wait, who am I here?" was so good.

Dawn of the Dead remake is homedude’s best movie (I do really like 300 and Watchmen tho tbh) and it’s not even close

I read Dark Harvest and can't wait to stream that. Tried to catch When Evil Lurks in theaters but it was only there for a week. Did not care for Pearl as much as X, no idea why people thought it was better. On the off chance you didn't know, When Evil Lurks hits Shudder Friday.

DotD remake was laughable. i literally laughed when the zombie baby was born. wasn't that the first movie where zombie's could run? def needed that innovation

Don’t mind the dotd remake but I never watch it. But I believe 28 days later was the first big one to use fast zombies which came out like a year or 2 before that.

Though purists make the argument those aren’t really “zombies”

looks like 28 days came out 2 years before dotd. i don't remember 28 even being on my radar when i saw dawn. it's a great one, but i would argue they are closer to rabid than zombies

It's return of the living dead. The scene with the headless zombie is for comedic effect. But there is the scene where they run at the paramedics and a scene at the end where they run at the barricade.

Though purists make the argument those aren’t really “zombies” None of the movies are if you want to get technical with the definition. "a corpse said to be revived by witchcraft, especially in certain African and Caribbean religions"

I watched 28 Day's later as a teenager who was terrified of horror movies. I wasn't scared except for the car alarm at the beginning. I always hated it but I suppose I should give it a re-watch. Since everybody says it's so good but I don't think my apinion will really change all that much.

I mean, I guess this would technically be lumbering, but it's pretty damn close to a jog/run and it's from the OG. In general, that first attack is pretty fast and violent compared to the later zombie movies.

I had a blast seeing it in the theater with friends when it came out. It never quite hit the same again after that. I still like it though.

28 days later is an awesome movie - great in the theaters. That’s how I first heard of Godspeed. 28 weeks later intro was so fucking good, but sucked after that.

Guys, Dark Harvest rips. It's like an amalgamation of The Purge, Pumpkinhead, and Lord of the Flies all set in a Stephen King ass town in the 60's. Hard recommend. This ROCKED.

Watched Cronos last night and it was probably one of the most interesting versions of a a Dracula movie that I've seen in a long time. So many questions left unanswered, and I'm glad that Guillermo never made a follow-up. Also, it was cool to see all of the element of his style early on in his career.

Dark Harvest delivered far more than I thought it would. Thought they did a lot with their budget, too. The scene that shows the bunker in volcano mode was entirely too rad. That clip looked amazing.
Kill List was pretty fucked up. I enjoyed it.
