The Stepfather was awesome. Pretty cookie cutter but executed well. Terry O'Quinn is so damn good in it. That line "Wait, who am I here?" was so good. Just watched this and agree that it’s awesome. It’s crazy to think that John List wasn’t caught until a couple of years after this came out.

Saw it talked about in the film thread and checked it out, but everyone should check out When Evil Lurks on Shudder. Some pretty unhinged stuff in the best way. I wanted more of it.

I also just watched The Stepfather yesterday. Thought it was pretty solid although of course there are laughable things about it. I feel like this series is a lot like Wishmaster where once O'Quinn leaves by the 3rd one its probably trash like once Andrew Divoff left Wishmaster (although those are objectively worse movies but still fun.)

Rewatching devils advocate. Fuck this movie rocks. I wanna believe Al Pacino didn’t know they were making a movie and just thought he was drinking w Keanu reeves for a week Still blows my mind that they chose Paint It Black for the end credits when Sympathy for Devil is right there. Insanity.

Just saw a sequel for It Follows was announced. They Follow. Maika Monroe is so so talented. She's kind of become a scream queen, which is great for the genre, but she either doesn't get calls or turns down roles?

Not a huge found footage guy, but Hell House LLC really proved how effective those kind of movies could be. Loved it, but not so much the two sequels. Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor just dropped on Shudder and rolled the dice. Goes the true crime route, but is on par with the og. Some legit spine chilling shit going on. Very pleasant return to form for Stephen Cognetti.

I feel she was on the brink of blowing up but after being in that atrocious Independence Day sequel she didn't get too many big roles. Alot of lower budget stuff I haven't heard of

I watched Lair of the white worm last night. It had some pretty funny moments and some rad flashback sequences that looked like bad 80s music videos. It seemed like that psychedelic stuff came out of nowhere. So good. right out of Ken Russell's magnificent big awesome messed brain

Alot of lower budget stuff I haven't heard of Watcher was superb, got a lot of great reviews. I enjoyed God is a Bullet a lot but it needed some serious editing. She definitely deserves some more higher scale work. The director was kind of put in director jail after Under the Silver Lake which is astonishing but apparently he's got some hot to trot monster movie with Anne Hathaway & JJ Abrams coming out soon. I don't think they'd do a It Follows sequel unless they really wanted to so I think this is good news overall.

She was still dedicating a lot of her time being a professional kiteboarder around that time, but yeah, had to have a bad agent and some bad luck with floppy flops.

HAPPY HALLOWEEEN YALL!!!
At home all day with my wife. We carved pumpkins yesterday and had a "scream-a-thon" with all 6 movies, and today we are gonna be chillin, watching movies, and drinking beers. Oh, and tacos!
On the list today:
Texas chainsaw massacre 2003 Jason X Halloween 2018 Halloween kills Halloween ends
Halloween OG Halloween 2 Hocus pocus
Oh, and just to touch on scream, even though it was already talked about... yeah, I'm in LOVE with the newer ones, man. Like, 5 and 6 just get me HYPED.
My ranking is probably insane but idgaf
1 6 5 4 2 3

I watched the OG Scream for the first time in probably a decade on Saturday and it holds up. Solid movie. I didn't like the newest one nearly as much though. Kinda whatever

1 5 2 6 3 Still haven't seen 4. That shit was off my radar by the time it came out. My main beef with 6 is too many of them survive. I really don't care about the friend group all that much and I guess they're just keeping them around because it helps the audience maintain some familiarity with them over multiple sequels but THEY CANT ALL LIVE

They are definitely focused on keeping the Scooby-Doo aspect of it going strong. I don't mind it since I really like the new group of friends (Core 4!) Lol but yeah, I feel like with the 7th one coming up, maybe some shit is going to pop off and we'll lose a few. I mean its gotta happen at some point right?

My last run of movies for Halloween, but I have a feeling it's going to spill over into the rest of the week and the weekend.
The Beyond - My first Fulci movie and it really doesn't wait too long to jump into full gore. This dude had an obsession with acid melting people. A jump scare genuinely got me with this movie. The plot was indecipherable, but who needs that. Chopping Mall - surprisingly good despite such a heavy reliance on big remote control cars and animated laser shots. Extra points for a dude watching watching his girlfriend burn to death several feet away. However, I got bored and didn't finish it -- is it worth jumping back in? Nightmare on Elm Street -- Last minute decision and I'm so glad I'll be ending my Halloween binge on this one. Halfway through and finishing it tonight.

There's a couple of really cool kills in this. Good schlock. I think its worth it. Its not exactly Killers of the Flower Moon length-wise lol
