Rewatched The Prowler but synced with the We Hate Movies commentary. Some top-notch Tom Savini work but paired with a super slow pace. Forgot how sluggish it gets. I love The Prowler. Savini's effects are indeed fantastic here with a few particularly brutal kills. I think the killer's military garb is a nice touch that ties in perfectly with his motive/the story. I actually don't mind the slow place, for me it adds to the tension.

I rewatched Mario Bava’s Black Sunday (the mask of satan) this week, and god damn, what an incredible looking movie. One of those sorts of eyetalian classics where the plot is less important than the immaculate vibes that you just want to live in. One of the best opening scenes in a horror movie ever imo. Shocking how gruesome it is considering it was 1960. Every horror fan should watch Black Sunday. Real horror heads know about it, but it should be held in the same breath as Night of the Living Dead and Psycho as essential 1960s horror flicks. Agreed!! Makes for a great double-feature with Castle of Blood.

I watched creep and creep 2 last night. Fucking awesome. I was so uncomfortable and couldn't stop laughing at how genuinely weirded out he made me feel. Dude plays a great endearing psychopath. Creep was great!! Though he wasn't endearing to me at all, just a fucking weirdo from the start... I would have bailed within the first few minutes lol He balances so well between the two. I guess it depends on how you go into the film but I really didn't expect the end.

Dude leaves to fish and kills everybody with little explanation. While the red herring is a guy in a wheel chair. Idk what they thinking.

He then goes on a rampage 35 years later when the kids decide to have the first graduation party since the 1945 lover's lane murders.

Was just browsing the New Beverly Cinema site and will be replicating their Karloff & Lugosi double feature on my couch tonight!!
The Black Cat (1934) -- The Raven (1935)
Both excellent and abolutely perfect for this time of year.

Oh sorry. I think his motivation makes sense as far as nutjob killers go. He got a ''dear John'' letter, flipped the fuck out and then was triggered again 35 years later. Typical.

It has the literal barest of plots to facilitate some great Tom Savini kills.

Today's been an Omen day. Watched The Omen, Damien: The Omen II, and now I'm watching The First Omen. It's actually really good so far. Digging it for sure.
After this I'm gonna watch Orphan and Orphan 2. Saw these both for the first time last year and fucking loved em.

After last night's marvelous double bill, I'm in the mood for more Edgar Allan Poe inspired horror. Will go for a few Roger Corman/Vincent Price Poe adaptations, probably The Pit and the Pendulum // Masque of the Red Death... after all, it's not really Halloween season without some Vincent Price thrown into the mix.

I saw so many good reviews for that new Omen movie but I didn't care for it at all. Thought the last bit was really hokey and dumb
