Speaking of franchises that have gone off the rails have any of you watched the later Phantasm movies? I haven't been able to bring myself to watch anything between the 2nd one but the Tall Man will forever give me nightmares

I watched all 11 hellraisers last year. I would say only the 1st four feel like actual hellraiser movies with the rest being scripts that they just dropped pinhead in on. 8 has a real early 2000s vibe if you’re into that and is probably the only one really watchable past 6 (outside of the Hulu one which wasn’t bad) Been doing puppet master this time around and on the 12th now. The 8th was almost entirely direct flashbacks/clips from the 1st seven movies. IMDb trivia says it was filmed in 2 days. the first two are all timers. the third one is uhhhhhh I like Bloodlines though. Must be 2 singles of Rock The Bells cause that CD is hard as hell!

I love dumb over the top SFX violence, but the clown character annoys me so damn much. I haven’t seen the 2nd or 3rd terrifier because of that.
The first couple Hellraisers are great tho. I think they fucked up by focusing too much on the cenobites.

I think the Terrifier clown exemplifies what a horror movie clown should be. I feel like other horror movie clowns are too goofy and completely bereft of any form of sadism. Pennywise the Clown fucking HONKS!

Silent Night, Deadly Night 4: Initiation is up next Just finished The Taking of Deborah Logan and dug it quite a bit. The second one is unintentionally hilarious. I watch it on Christmas. The first one is a nasty piece of work, but I have to say I actually prefer the second installment. The flashbacks are a little boring and repetitive if you've seen the original, but after that the movie really takes off. Everything involving Eric Freeman is comedy gold, what a weird performance to say the least. Of course, the infamous ''garbage day'' might be the stand out, but I personally have a soft spot for when he electrocutes the dude with the jumper cables. Good shit all round. In fact, I think the whole series is pretty decent and usually watch a few of them leading up to the holidays.

Just don't go in expecting anything on the level of the 79 movie and you should have a good time!! Haven't seen the last one...

Watched Ghost House last night with my buddy and his gf’s kids (12 and 14 years old). I figured they would think it was boring and not be into it… on the contrary, they both loved it. Not that I was lacking faith in our youth, but this genuinely warmed my heart. Can’t wait to start introducing them to proper classics.

Watched two films for We Hate Movies' spooktacular episodes that they do every October yesterday: The Final Destination and Leprechaun 4.
Always thought I'd seen The Final Destination, but I guess it was only the opening race track crash. Can see why they made a fifth to redeem themselves, cos it sucked and looked cheap as hell to boot. Really uncreative kills as well.
Leprechaun 4 had me scratching the walls. The third is a cinematic masterpiece by comparison. Some points for Dr. Mittenhand's design I guess, but even by the standards of the franchise, it was poor - especially those space ship effects, woof.

Not doing 31 for 31, but I've been doing my own horrorfest since mid September. My list at the halfway point: Scream 2,3,4 Infinity Pool House (1985) -- genuinely surprised how awesome this was. I'd seen the poster pop up in my suggested movies, but I was always more focused on Hausu. Bodies Bodies Bodies -- God damn, everyone in that movie was insufferable. Ending gag made it all worthwhile. Us -- So many holes, but beautiful and extremely entertaining. Turn off your brain, don't ask too many questions. Demons -- Amazing. Like a 12 year old's fever dream. The VVitch -- A rewatch that was much more entertaining than the first watch, and I loved it the first time around. The Empty Man -- Pffrrrt... It had a lot of potential, but the payoff wasn't worth it. The mini movie in the beginning was the best part. Currently watching Jennifer's Body -- really enjoying it so far. It only made the list because Henry Zebrowski big upped it recently.

I am a massive dork for WHM but im at the point where I just cant watch some of these movies. I listened to the Leprechaun episode without watching it. I'll probably watch the 3rd one though, they covered that one earlier this year too with the Dead Meat hosts. I watched The Final Destination while playing video games. That thing is barely a movie, its like 80 minutes. Doesnt have Tony Todd either which doesnt help.

That was down there with some of the worst. Yeah, they've done all the Lep films with the Dead Meat guys. The episode on the third one was great, was that really earlier this year? Damn. I listened to their Mortal Kombat episode for like 400th time on a train journey a few days ago. One of, if not their best, episodes.

My waife is still watching the walking dead so we sighned up for amc+ so she can check out the new ones and saw that it came with shudder which has been great. Did the wnuf Halloween special and Ghostwatch back to back which were cool. Also agree with whoever the last hell house llc sequel was good again which was nice because ever since the 1st has been garbage.

I think he was in a shit movie so he was over acting to throw the scenes but they left it in like Jeremey Irons in the D&D movie.

Pennywise the Clown fucking HONKS! Clown from 2014 is a pretty mean spirited clown horror movie that doesn't pull any punches or go for laughs. Really interesting premise, too.

There was that one movie before Terrifier that had Art the Clown in it and both T1 and that movie blend in my head together. I don't really like those.
I watched Last night with the devil and it was alright. I also watched this fun 80s Mexican movie called Vacaciones de Terror. There's a sequel, but I think it's more of an anthology type thing. I'll probably check that out too.

Puppet Master: what is this bullshit...and they made 13 more of these? If someone tells me just stick with the series it gets better, ill scream First one made money and Charles Band produced it. If you weren't expecting them to run with the one successful franchise they have that's on you. They also suck and it does not get better.
