Halloween 3 and Exorcist 3 are prime examples of franchise sequels that absolutely rule. Those are both top tier horror movies.

Been binging like crazy, started with Halloween is such a beautiful film, Jeepers Creepers (2/3 ain’t bad), punpkinhead i & ii (2 sux), Hellraiser 1-3 + bloodline, random Saws—Saw X tonite and ended with Halloween Ends, it wasn’t bad but I liked the Halloween -> Halloween Kills combo better, though I preesh as a coda

Maxxxine was meh. Bummer I thought x and pearl were great. Maxxxine felt like it didn’t really anywhere. Felt like they were fitting too many elements into 1 thing. The reveal of the villian was meh.

Watching Night of the Demons 2 and Necronomicon tonight with beaucoup beers. Hadn't heard of Necronomicon until I watched Dentist 2 last week. Yeah, not good. Amelia Kinkaid reprises her role as Angela so that's cool. I would say it's still worth seeing if you liked the first two, just keep your expectations in check.

That Nightmare on Elm Street remake really blows chunks huh? god theres so much wrong with it but Freddy's design in particular is awful

watched the F13 '09 remake last night. haven't seen it in a few years. fucking AWESOME. it was such a blast. jason fucking MERKS on those fools, man. i love that they took it back to pre-zombie jason too. he's got a real menace about him when he's just an actual crazy dude in a hockey mask, running around trying to kill everyone for being on camp crystal lake. really appreciated that. also, can't forget the best line(s) ever: "oh, your tits are stupendous... your tits are... so juicy dude"

They’d never seen that NOTLD, and it’s always kinda fun to be there when people check that out for the first time. 1990 night of the living dead rules so hard. i like it waaaaaay more than the original. Yes! I don't know about it being better than the original but extremely well done. There is the story board version where it was supposed to be even more intense and gruesome but budget issues and all that got in the way. Glad Savini got to direct his take on a classic in a genre he has Mount Rushmore status in. Love that he still kept themes intact and switched them around. I've had an original DVD of this since it came out and such a treat listening to the commentary. |
