Anyone f'ing w Purge 4? I feel like three underwhelming movies was all I'm willing to give my time to. That's kinda my thinking as well. I really hated the first one, and the second two were only marginally better in my apinion. That said, I like all the race relations that seem to be at the center of this new one, especially all the little Birth of A Nation nods in the trailer. I'll probably end up seeing it, and I'll probably be let down. Pretty much how I feel about them. I know I'll watch it, but I'm in no rush.

Watched this old horror movie from New Zealand called Strange Behavior, it has its flaws, but it's odd and pretty enjoyable. It mixes mad scientist sci-fi thriller, revenge movies, and slasher movies. The dated production quality at least helps make it more enjoyable.

i'd like to see hereditary again, much like the rest of you. that movie was great. the ending left me feeling simultaneously uncomfortable, spooked, and yet warm at the same time. would be dope to see more films involving the invocation of any of the other 8 kings of hell.

I thought the movie was decent, but I know a lot of people were raving it.

I just watched Ravenous (the zombie movie) on Netflix. As someone who has been jaded on zombie content since The Walking Dead began airing on TV, this is pretty good.

I just realized Michael Dougherty is directing Godzilla 2. Pretty excited for that. It’s a bit of a departure for him, but I’m confident he’ll do a good job, and even though there were plenty of problem with the first one, I still loved it.

So many huge big budget franchise flicks going to smaller indie directors...and often younger as well. It’s both really cool and somewhat problematic.

Anyone into Jean Rollin's stuff? I picked up the box set of his a Dracula movies recently after having been a fan of The Iron Rose and The Living Dead Girl for awhile. I guess my best comparison would be like the French counterpart to all of the eyetalian sleaze horror of the '70s and '80s but with less gore and the plotlessness turned up to 11. They're very dreamlike and strange which can fluctuate between being entrancing or just plain dull. I watched The Grapes of Death last night which was like a bizarro Night of the Living Dead set in the French countryside. Also props to Redemption for their absolutely hideous covers.

who're some of your favorite horror comic illustrators? I wanna look at some cool art / read some comics sitting at work. Mostly want to see cool artwork, though.

The guy who did the Cannibal Corpse artwork, Vince Locke, has done some really cool ones called Deadworld that are pretty much the comic book equivalent of a CC album, kinda taking a more humorous approach to things. He's done other stuff too, apparently some work on the Sandman comics.

Welcome To Willits is fucking hilarious. I don't want to ruin anything but if you liked Tucker And Dale VS Evil you'll love this.

Apparently Rob Zombie is making another flick with Captain Spaulding, Baby and Otis called Three From Hell. Loved The Devils Rejects and House Of A 1000 Corpses so actually pretty stoked on this.

Rewatched Zombie/Zombi 2/Zombie Flesh Eaters yesterday for the first time in years. A couple iconic scenes, but pretty boring overall IMO. Frizzi's score is terrific though.

Just watch What Have You Done to Solange? for the first time, a damn solid giallo. One of the better ones that I've ever seen, adding a Morricone score is also a very nice touch.

I could get into this. I dug those two, and I could appreciate the first Halloween remake for what it was, but I hated H2 and I never bothered with the rest of his films after that.

I guess that’s the teaser poster making its rounds at the moment. Agree with your summary on his movies, always thought he should revisit these characters, glad to see that’s gonna happen now.

Pretty fond of Harrow County currently. Anything Jock and Matteo Scalera do is incredible, but not always horror. Emily Carroll does some sick horror comics, and a few are online. Anything Junji Ito does fucking rips. I feel like there isn't a ton going on currently in horor comics that isn't shit. The House of Waxwork stuff is a cool concept and the writing and drawings are cool, but it takes a lot to blow me away. Like Alberto Breccia, or Will Eisner. Breccia is fucking dope but idk where to find his shit, dude would ink with a razorblade. Sry this is like a weird half complete stream of conciousness thing.
