Pretty interested to see what that Zombie film is going to be like. Haven't seen anything since Lords of Salem and loathed it. I just hate Sheri Moon Zombie. Take one fucking acting class if you are so into acting.

Favorite horror movie: Evil Dead 2
Mostly into existential/dimensional horror shit like Hellraiser I/II, Event Horizon, Jacob's Ladder, In The Mouth of Madness
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Endless (same muchachos who did Resolution), came out 2017, about two brothers that return to their UFO death cult after receiving a video message 10 years post-departure. Becomes a Lovecraftian horror flick real quick with still strong cult elements. Lots of things that are alluded to rather than shown (for the best, due to budgetary/sfx issues), but very very effective.

The Endless is absolutely the best sci-fi movie of the year so far.

Feels like I watched the whole movie already. Why do trailers reveal soooo much now?

It’s hard to beat Ennio Morricone’s work on The Thing.
and Suspiria of course.

As far as recent ones I liked what Colin Stetson did with the Hereditary score. I think Bernard Herrmann's Psycho score is my favorite.
Stephen O'Malley from Sunn o did a score for the blu ray release of The Phantom Carriage. I thought that score added significant weight over the original score released with the dvd. It's a little quiet in this clip.

I really like the Day of The Dead soundtrack, the same composer also did an episode of Tales from the Darkside where a failing pianist obtains a keyboard from the devil or something. It's just a really generally upbeat, triumphant theme that jives well with the gore/underlying hope of the movie.
Also, sickest main theme. Sounds like Jerome Cantrell and Dave Mustaine did a collab somewhere.
Saw this giallo last night on Shudder. Very chill, noirish slasher. Great visuals for an otherwise nonsense story.

What is everyone's favorite soundtracks/scores? I've been on a bit of a kick lately. Halloween III The Witch It Follows The Fog Child's Play Creepshow The Beyond There Will Be Blood, even though it isn't horror. Not a fan of the Lost Themes stuff at all.

Nosferatu (1978) Suspiria Angst
Pretty much all the popular Carpenter ones, as well.

goblin in dawn of the dead is somehow perfect (especially the euro cut which adds that rockin' zombie-ass-kicking jam not present in the other versions), but i watched deep red recently and some of those musical cues are so entirely out of fucking place, to the point of absurdity. inferno had the same problem in my apinion, even though that wasn't goblin

Can anyone reccomend good Horror podcasts? I would really like stuff more in vain of Lore.
Hate Say You Love Satan and any podcast where the hosts think they are really funny, but just mouthbreathers.
NoSleep is weak as fuck also.
Last podcast on the left seems it would be the same as SYLS.
Might be shit outta luck!

Last Podcast is awesome. They are actually funny I think. A lot more than just horror though I guess.
If you want stuff on horror movies that dives deep, "the Evolution Of Horror" is pretty damp interesting.

I don't think I have actually tried Last Podcast, but looking at the info and icon it just looked like another say you love satan. I hate the narcissism that comes with podcasting these days. I'll give Last and the other one a shot. Thanks!

They don't take themselves too seriously either. Didn't make it all the way through The Endless. Probably wasn't in the mood for it but... Once they got into the whole time loop thing, I started zoning out.

I rented Ghost Stories. I missed out when I planned to see it in theatres, because something came up. It was alright. How they tied the stories together was different but pretty mediocre, as was how abruptly they ended 2 of the 3 stories. The movie was not bad just not great like I was expecting it to be from the reviews.

First Purge was the best one yet, but overall still pretty corny and not very good. But I like that they took a slightly different perspective than the others. The conceptual differences from the previous movies is what really sets it apart, but it’s form is still just as bad as any of them.

Watched Hell Night w/ Linda Blair. Pretty good.
It Follows score adds a tremendous amount to the movie and I think that’s always key. Favorite of recent movies. Plus The Guest, andddd You’re Next.

In case anyone is interested... I've got pre-orders up for my Killer Klowns from Outer Space big boxes. I made them to look like an oversized NES game (that sadly was not a real thing) and they come with "goodies" inside each one. Their dimensions are roughly 11" tall and 8" wide. I made a small run of these about 4 years ago and was requested to bring them back for a limited time. Once pre-orders end, that's it. You can get them at www.MindlessPosters.com up until August 10th, for $25. Sorry for the spam???

A friend of mine got to see an early screening of the new Suspiria. Said it was really good and described the violence to be very nasty.
