Abortion/Roe throws any certainty with a sexism argument out the window. The failed Red Wave demonstrates how hard women (and men) are willing to mobilize for abortion rights, regardless of party affiliation. If abortion weren't such a topic at the forefront of this cycle, behind probably only the economy and immigration, I'd definitely agree tho... particularly with the limited window of time she's had to work with in the first place. She was always working against time/history.
And like, let's not discount how much in the past 15 years the tide's moved away from feeling good about any sorta incremental change/progress. Huge chunks of the electorate are finally getting their way, not just being able to keep some things how they are but actually turning back the clock on progressive shit they never agreed with in the first place.
Obviously the electorate in this country's half-pickled by generational alcoholism and inbreeding, but dems have been out of ideas for a long minute. If they lose they can't just gesture toward the Trump cult this time.

She had way more money to spend than drafting another dem with good visibility. But many voters (understandably) think there was a bit of a con with hiding Biden’s state, so she looks dishonest by association. Aside from that, there are a number of dems who would not just word salad or evade their way through interviews. But she’s was basically the option this late in the game. Woulda been nice if Biden said he wasn’t running for re-election over a year ago. |

Trumps first VP won’t even run with him because he basically greenlit his mob to kill him. Meanwhile people don’t trust Harris because she wouldn’t speak up about Biden’s condition while she was VP.

I’m biased, but I wish Brian Schwietzer (former MT governor) would’ve picked up steam in 2016. Brash talking, looks more like Trump than any other dem candidate. I think it would’ve laid bare how stupid Trump was up against a “tough” looking dude who knew policy. Never had a shot, but saying Cantor set off his gaydar didn’t help either.
